Yurt, the Silent Chief

Yurt, the Silent Chief is not a very pleasant character. He works for Mephistopheles, who will only appear in the Nexus if you have a Pure Black Character Tendency.
You will first encounter Yurt, the Silent Chief stuck in one of the cages that lowers down into the Tower of Latria swamp below the platforms in 3-2. You will know you have found him when you see the platform that has several different coloured Augite of Guidance lighting him up.
You can talk to him in the cage and then decide if you want to release him or not.
If you release him, he will walk around the platform and tell you that you will meet him again in the future. You can then use his cage to continue the stage.
After the defeat of the Maneater Demon (or any other major demon??), he will appear in the Nexus on the second floor way off in the right-hand corner. You will know when Yurt, the Silent Chief is in the Nexus as you will find two dead bodies. One on the stairs near Blacksmith Boldwin and one in the second floor of the Nexus. Yurt, the Silent Chief can be found to the right of this second body.
If left alone at this point, Yurt, the Silent Chief will start to kill off the people in the Nexus. This is not something you want to have happen.
In order to save the Nexus inhabitants or if you want to perform all of Mephistopheles tasks later on you need to kill him. Locate Yurt, the Silent Chief and this is what will happen:
- If you talk to him while you are in Soul form, he will simply converse with you. You will need to start the fight.
- If you talk to him while in your human form, he will tell you that he has assassinated every human in Boletaria except one; and then he will attack you.
Yurt, the Silent Chief is not very difficult, however he does wield a Shotel which will hit you (for 50% damage) even if you have 100% damage reduction on your shield. Once defeated he will drop the Gloom suit of armor.
Defeating Yurt, the Silent Chief has no effect on your World or Character Tendency.
