Re: Character Images

I should have some free time coming up, and can definitely get some sort of images for all the characters. It was something I meant to do earlier but didn't have the time for initially, only to then completely forget about it. Chances are I'll end up taking screenshots of the characters (actual direct feed screens; not just pics of the TV). I might even have time to go through and crop out the backgrounds. Aside from that, I can definitely get trophy icons too. Anyhow, I wouldn't expect anything until sometime next week. Oh, and I'll also look into implementing that optimized background, which I forgot about, partly because it's something I need to bring to the attention of our webmaster.--Richard 10:13, 22 April 2010 (PDT)

I've uploaded screens for most of the enemies and NPCs already. I still have to get everyone from Valley of Defilement, along with a handful I missed from the other worlds, particularly bosses. I should hopefully be able to take care of those relatively soon. There's a pretty wild inconsistency in sizes of what I did grab, since it's difficult to get good unobscured shots of certain enemies/characters up close. I figure a lot will likely get sized down when added to the appropriate wiki page anyhow. Also, I'll likely get some new shots for some of the ones I already grabbed, since I found some unsatisfactory.--Richard 15:44, 29 April 2010 (PDT)

Ed was one of the ones I missed. I actually kept accidentally hitting him whenever I got close to take a screen, but didn't want to take it of him in aggressive mode. Re: Search engine indexing, etc.

Thanks for that. I was wondering why the "wikidsouls" name was showing up in search results. If you come up with anything else like this that needs to be changed server side, feel free to let me know. By the end of the week I'll make sure to send our webmaster an email with this along the background image change, enabling collapsible tables, and whatever else might arise between now and then. I'm not sure how busy she might be though, and since Demon's Souls doesn't exactly have the same priority for us now as it did several months ago, it might not be implemented immediately. --Richard 09:23, 10 May 2010 (PDT)

Re: Spam

I definitely don't mind the spam text being deleted before I have a chance to delete the page. Certainly doesn't hurt to get rid of it earlier. Couldn't help but notice that the spam suddenly spiked a bit over this weekend. I'm actually kinda hoping it gets worse, 'cause then I might actually be able to make a case for our web person to put some time aside for this site to add some spam-blocking extensions along with handling those other issues you brought up so long ago. This site's hasn't exactly been priority for us lately, especially with the extra load of work that the 3D Dot Hall of Heroes page was, so it might take some extra motivation for it to get some attention again.--Richard 17:23, 9 August 2010 (PDT)
