You can find Satsuki at the very start of Shrine of Storms, section 4-1. World Tendency will affect just where he stands and whether he will appear as a Black Phantom or in Human Form.

Satsuki will appear on the archway above the very first Silver Skeleton unless you have a Pure World Tendency. If shot at he will move to a safer location, however he can be killed. If he is killed while on the archway he will disappear from the game until the next play through. It is unconfirmed but assumed World Tendency will shift towards Black.

Strategy

Satsuki is very fast and very strong. One slash from his Uchigatana and you could be resurrecting for another slashing. Try and get combos off at him or keep him knocked down. Magic can actually do some good against him, but should be used in discretion because all black phantoms can dodge. He can also fully heal himself with grass.

Pure White World Tendency

In Pure White World Tendency, he will appear on the ground, near the first Silver Skeleton. As you approach Satsuki will start to talk to you about the Magic Sword "Makoto" and ask for your help in locating it. For more details, see the related Satsuki side quest page. Defeating the Human Form Satsuki will shift your World Tendency towards Black. What he drops will depend on how you played out the side quest.

Pure Black World Tendency

If Shrine of Storms is in Pure Black World Tendency and you enter Shrine of Storms without the Thief's Ring or Graverobber's Ring equipped, a Black Phantom Satsuki will start to run at you without warning. All named character Black Phantoms are a hard fight, but Satsuki is one of the easier ones. Watch out for the Silver Skeleton, who will make the fight harder if not defeated quickly. Black Phantom Satsuki will drop a Hiltless and the World Tendency will shift towards White when you defeat him and return to the Nexu.

Note: There is a Primeval Demon in the Shrine of Storms. You may want to check this out before you return to the Nexus.

Sidequest

The Satsuki Sidequest takes place in the Shrine of Storms, mostly sections 4-1 and 4-2 and requires Pure White World Tendency. It also involves Patches, the Hyena and Saint Urbain.

The quest reward is the Magic Sword "Makoto". The steps to complete the quest are as follows, however you do not need to complete all steps to obtain the sword.

First, you need to get the Shrine of Storms into Pure White World Tendency. To do this, follow the How to obtain a Pure World Tendency steps. While following the steps, be sure to not kill Patches, the Hyena no matter how much you may want to.

Once you have Pure White World Tendency, you will need to located the Magic Sword "Makoto". This is how you find it:

1. Enter Shrine of Storms at the Adjudicator Archstone. Locate and talk to Patches (below and behind the first Reaper). He will push you into a pit. If you have already been in the pit, follow the path down.
2. In the pit you will find Saint Urbain and a Dual Katana Black Phantom. After the defeat of the Black Phantom, have a look around.
3. Lying on the ground are a number of Treasures. The Magic Sword "Makoto" is one of them.
   • If Shrine of Storms is not Pure White, the sword will be sitting on top of a rock in the middle of the room. The sword only falls to the ground in Pure White World Tendency. If you have defeated all Demons and the Shrine of Storms is not Pure White, you will need to try on the next play through - there is no other way.
4. You now have the Magic Sword "Makoto" and the rest is optional. As a bonus, Saint Urbain can be found in the area behind Blacksmith Boldwin and Patches, the Hyena will be located at the Tower of Latria Archstone in the Nexus (if you did not kill him that is, and it is best not to kill him).

Dealing with Satsuki:

1. Return to the start of Shrine of Storms and you will find Satsuki near the first Silver Skeleton. Satsuki will talk about the sword and his aspirations to obtain it.
   • If you do not have the sword on you, he will only ask you to find it for him. Return when you have it.
   • If you have the sword on you, there will be the option to give it to him. If you give it to him or not, he will attack you.
2. When Satsuki has been defeated, he drops the Magic Sword "Makoto" if you gave it to him, otherwise he drops nothing.
3. Return to the Nexus and the World Tendency for Shrine of Storms will shift towards Black (because a Human Soul was taken).
