Patches, the Hyena is an unlockable
Merchants and is involved in a few sidequests. He can be found and unlocked in
Stonefang Tunnel (section 2-2) and again
Shrine of Storms (section 4-2). Once you have survived one of his sidequests he can be found in the Nexus. He will disappear from the Nexus if you defeat the boss
before 2-2 or 4-2 until you complete his related sidequest, then Patches will re-appear in the Nexus.
A number of items for sale are limited, for example he only sells 5x Dark Moon Grass per play through.
If Shrine of Storms is in Pure Black World Tendency and you have not completed his sidequest, he will disappear for that play through.
If killed he drops the Thief's Ring.
