Demon's Souls
From Wikidsouls
When you defeat a major demon, you will pick up a unique named soul. Most of these named souls have a special purpose and some have more than one use. There are four unlockable named characters that can convert these Demon's Souls into either weapons, spells or miracles. You could also simply consume the named soul, but it would be advised to check the Demon's Souls Table below before doing so.
There are a few special case souls. These are the Red Hot Demon's Soul and Colorless Demon's Souls. Both are documented below.
The Small Flame Scale Demon's Soul (Red Flying Dragon), Large Flame Scale Demon's Soul (Blue Flying Dragon) as well as the Beast Demon's Soul are the only Souls without a secondary purpose and can be safely consumed.

Who Can Use Demons' Souls
The following unlockable named characters that can convert the Souls into unique items are:
- Blacksmith Ed will either convert or upgrade weapons.
- Sage Freke, the Visionary can use a number of souls to create advance Magic based spells.
- Yuria, the Witch creates darker Magic spells.
- Saint Urbain uses souls to create mostly defensive, Faith based miracles.
Each named character has a related side quest which will need to be completed before the characters will be able to use the souls.
Notes on Blacksmith Ed's Upgrades
In order for Blacksmith Ed to upgrade weapons with any Demon's Soul, you will need to give him the Red Hot Demon's Soul from the Flamelurker in Stonefang Tunnel, section 2-2. With the soul in your inventory, select the Talk menu option when you are talking to Ed, then keep selecting the talk option until he starts to repeat or offers to take the Demon's Soul from you. If he still does not offer to take the soul, walk away then approach him and start to talk again.
Note: Blacksmith Ed will only offer to take the Red Hot Demon's Soul if the Armor Spider and Flamelurker have been defeated on the current play through.
Demon's Souls Table
The following table is a list of all the Souls obtained from bosses and mini bosses - and what you can do with them.
Colorless Demon's Souls
There is a maximum of 10 Colorless Demon's Souls per play through. Up to 5 can be obtained from the Primeval Demons. Another 5 Colorless Demon's Soul can be obtained from:

Primeval Demons
The Primeval Demons appear when a world is in almost Pure Black World Tendency. The Demons are harmless blobs and drop a Colorless Demon's Soul when killed. The drop rate is NOT 100% however. Using a Large Sword of Searching will help your chances for a successful drop.Killing a Primeval Demon will shift your World Tendency towards white on return to the Nexus.
There are a total of 5 Primeval Demons per play through.
The Primeval Demon locations are:
- Boletarian Palace (1-3) - Through the front gate past the official, up the right stair case and past the 2 guards.
- Stonefang Tunnel (2-1) - On the ground near the lift that takes you to the Scale Miners throwing boulders at the start of the map.
- Tower of Latria (3-2) - In the Swamp area, but on land in a dead end. If you start to head up the tower path, you missed it.
- Shrine of Storms (4-2) - After the first Reaper, destroy the secret passage. Defeat the Dual-Katana Black skeleton and continue toward the White Bow.
- Valley of Defilement (5-2) - Near the start of the ramp to the slug nest, a little before the Filthy Woman Merchant.
Uses of Colorless Demon's Souls
All Colorless Demon's Souls can be consumed for 5,000 souls.
Saint Urbain can turn 3 Colorless Demon's Souls into the Recovery Miracle, however you must have defeated at least one Primeval Demon, and that Demon dropped a Soul.
Blacksmith Ed can use Colorless Demon's Souls to upgrade a number of Unique Weapons. Each weapon can be upgraded to +5 with each upgrade step requiring 1 soul. The list of weapons that can be upgraded is as follows:
