Barbarian

The Barbarian deals high damage thanks to high stats (having the highest starting soul level helps there) but starts with no armour and thus takes a LOT of damage when hit, particularly from fire and magic. Expect a very difficult first few hours, until you find some armour and/or learn to dodge like a pro. If you're determined to play the game in character and NOT wear any armour, expect a very difficult game from start to finish. The Barbarian is not considered to be a new player friendly class and not recommended for novices by any means.

Pros

• Very high starting stats most notably having the highest starting Strength and Vitality.
• Starts with a Blunt Weapon, making 4-1 much, much easier.
• No armor means your equip burden should be no issue allowed for full dodge rolls and top run speed.
• No armor means you can safely use heavy weapons without the movement penalties.

Cons

• You have no margin for error as a Barbarian any form of hit will do massive damage due to no armor.
• Wooden Shield does not have 100% damage cut. ( Buy a Heater Shield from Blacksmith Boldwin as soon as possible. )
• Your starting weapons have very limited range and do low damage compared to other starter weapons.
• Needless to say you have no starting Spells or Miracles, also you must invest the most Soul Levels of any class to reach them.
• Barbarian's like many have no ranged attack option at character creation.
