After recovering from an injury which he did not tell anyone about, Vert has entered this competition to try and obtain a large sum of money which he plans to donate to the orphanage. When Decker asks him why he didn't come back to the orphanage when Aunty collapsed, Vert does not answer, thinking that his explanation would only sound like a lame excuse.
