Persona 3 Portable aka P3P

the only reason there are more people going for strange journey, and im almost 100% sure of it, is the fact that it is for DS (a lot more people have DS than psp) and sadly the reason of this is the piratery D:, companies dont wanna release to many games for psp, but there are new stuff they making piracy fall so maybe this will help to sell more psp (ive already seen like 50 posts of people saying that now they are going to get a psp because of P3P)

I expect good software sells on PSP especially in Japan because CFW
only work with old games I don’t know why but new games don’t

But seriously... would Junpei be available for dating, considering his dramatic story and all? And what about Ryoji.. hoo.. this is somewhat intriguing. I also like the point-and-click'y stuff, saves lots of time instead of running around the whole school/city all the time but is less boring than a simple text menu.

Hmm.. I would have prefered a P4P-female-protagonist-version (I - who does not like yaoi at all - would have gladly agreed to some homosexuality in P4 if it would have meant being able to date Kanji, he's just too adoreable), but I'll gladly take this. And yes, for this I'll also buy a PSP - and that would be the 4th time I restart playing the game, I'm somewhat glad I've never finished it before.

The only thing I'd like in this port of the game is to keep the option of Japanese voices, they did with the PSP port of Riviera.

It'd probably take up more room then is already available on the UMD but if it's possible I'd like it, heck add it as Downloadable Content if there isn't enough space on the UMD, I hope it's free DLC... but if you have to charge for it...... it better be really really really cheap, else people would just buy the normal version of the game then download an free undub version off the net.

The UMD can only hold up to 1.8gbs dual layer right (well that's what I reed on wiki lol)

Hay! They have two new videos on the website, showcasing a few differences between the Girl/Boy texts.
The background that shows up is different. Ooooooh....
Neat!
Play them both (with the sound turned down, two different voice-overs make my head spin.) and you can really see the diffeances in the scenarios, even if you can't read Japanese.
I checked the site at night like Enzeru said.
It seems that the Boy storyline has the same/similar battle music to P3/FES. I wonder if there's new lyrics like the difference between P3 and FES.
The Girls sounds pretty good~

Thanks for the link. I visited the site before, between 12 and 1 one evening like someone else suggested, and it played the battle music when I clicked on the characters. When I visited it now, it played the school music, so I'm assuming it changes based on the time of day. I think that's pretty sweet. The site admins were pretty creative. It obviously reads the time on our computers, since I'm assuming we live in different regions.

I saw the videos you mentioned, which weren't available last time. I can understand a bit of it, but I've only had two semesters of Japanese so far, and haven't studied over the summer break, so I'm a little rusty.

I know which scene it is anyways. Besides Chotto, which literally means "Yes, but a little", which is often used to politely decline an invitation, I caught, Yasumi, which means to rest. I think I remember Yukari saying she would have rather slept in, when I played the original and FES(in English), but I can't remember exactly what was said in that scene.

I saw the difference, though I don't really know the exact situation. I can't read Japanese text quick enough, and as I said, only managed to catch a couple words. I can't wait to see that in English.

I don't really like Junpei's Japanese voice, it's too deep for me. I don't mind Yukari's voice though. Who am I kidding? Michelle Ruff FTW! Still, I think her Japanese voice is pretty good too. Apparently Fuuka's voice is much better in Japanese, but I've only heard her speak one line in the second psp video. "How was your day", isn't enough to give me an impression.

While I love P3 ,and will most likely buy it when Atlus USA localizes it, I was really hoping for an Innocent Sin PSP port next and of course an Eternal Punishment port. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait and see if they get ported!

I don't speak Japanese, but the video is the scene on the first day of school. (I think somebody on GameFAQs translated part of it?)

In the US version of P3 (and from the looks of it, also in the video), the conversation starts off as a brief dialog about being in the same classroom. The male MC had options like "It must be fate!", kind of hitting on Yukari, or dismissing it as coincidence. There's a brief exchange based on how you answer, then Yukari thanks the MC for walking to school together. Junpei gets the wrong impression and kind of freaks out.

Looking at the videos, everything up to the dialog option is the same, but the female MC's dialog options aren't hitting on Yukari, so both the response to the answers and the bit about walking together to school are different.

Besides the background and music being different, there's also a slight change on who is shown on screen at what parts, even if the actual line of dialog is the same.

Woa, you're right!! Still seems like the Boy story has the same music... I like the Girl's new stuff, so far I think it fits~

My Japanese is awful~ I haven't taken Japanese since Grade 11, and haven't studied since I graduated. :C I remember little bits and pieces if I hear them, but I have a hard time recalling the english meaning.
I took Japanese for two reasons: I'm a total fangirl, and I didn't want to take French. I fail at French~

Thanks for the links, especially the one to the upside down trailer. The site has just been updated. I'm not going to re post it, since you already posted a link. Under the character section, you can click on Yukari, Junpei or Mitsuru.

But I think the update in the story section is one of the better updates. It shows the scene on the roof, with Minako this time instead of Minato. I'm glad they left it intact. I'm not going to get my hopes up, but maybe they left the character models in for a couple other key moments. In the system section, there's a video showing Tartarus' appearance at the start of the dark hour, but we've all seen that one before.

But there's also another video showing how a day in Minato's story might play out. It doesn't look too bad. His room is kept intact, it just doesn't have his character model in it. The school shows still frames of other students in front, and in the classroom, so it won't feel like the player is in an empty school.

And it looks like the other teachers are getting character portraits. Is that Ms. Miyahara? Iwatodai is kept intact, though it looked like it skipped the eating sequence. The clock event before the dark hour looks slightly different, but overall, nothing major. When I heard that character portraits would be taken out, I thought the impact would be much greater, so I applaud the work done by Atlus Japan to minimize that effect.

There are also some wallpapers and banners up, as well as the ability to listen to the map music for both characters. The girl's music isn't that bad in my opinion. I wonder if this release will come with a soundtrack? Also, I found a video on youtube showing an interesting site extra, that I didn't know about. The rest of the video features the music, and both features are better viewed on the actual site, but I wouldn't have known about that first part without it.

I actually saw that video yesterday, but when I waent back to the site, Minako's card wasn't sparkly. :C When I followed the link on the video, it opened into the banner + wall paper page. Minako's music is really growing on me~ <3 I can't wait for the CD!! I want to put it on my MP3 player! It can join all my other P3 playlists~ I think "Miss Orpheus" in the story trailer is cute~
