Default Droplitz Tournament for XBLA

It's out! Droplitz is finally out!! And with no delay, I would like to announce the start of an epic battle! A battle of grand proportions! A battle to decide the most dexterous dial flinger in...

THE WOOOOOOOOOORRRLLLLDDD!!!

At least for those who have Xbox 360s!
Sorry PS3 people... don't hurt us....

For the month of July, players will fight it out on the Droplitz leaderboards, and come 12pm (PDT) July 31, the top 6 players on the 1st board of Droplitz will win a VERY SPECIAL PRIZE!!!

The first place winner will get a nifty card for 4000 MS points, and the 5 runners up will get a card for 1600 MS Points.

Go and download your copy now! You'll need that month to perfect your skill, hone your precision, and master your technique.

Better hop on now before your friends take the gold!

As always, bring your strategy discussion to the forums and talk it out about the best was to grab the title. And don't forget to read the rules (because cheaters suck).

See you July 31st!

Flipping puzzle games and me not being good at them. I'm in the top 10 on XBL (at the moment, I'm sure) and I'm not anywhere near where I need to be for the top 6. This'll be one contest I'm losing for sure.

Well, you never know who's ineligible to win out of the top 10.

I heard you smell funny. Oh wait, that's me. I think it's just easier to keep track of cheating with the 360 than for the PC and PS3, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's still fun.

P.S.: Reminder...I own a PS3, so that wasn't fuel for the fire.

Simply put, the PS3 didn't have a monthly tourney because the PS3 version doesn't have monthly leaderboards implemented at this time.

Default Two weeks to go!

All right you swarthy dial flingers, two weeks to go in the XBLA Droplitz Tournament. I just wanted to drop in and post the current standings on the Monthly boards.

Drumroll please...

And there you have it...
But wait! There's more!

If you recall, we will have One Winner and Five Runners-up. But currently there are a number of 'Top 10' entries that are not actually eligble to win the tournament prizes. I won't say who is and who isn't, but I will say that Crimson0men003, in 10th place, is currently our 5th runner up.

So don't despair! If you are stuck getting sub-100,000 point scores, it means there are a few key strategies you haven't figured out yet.

Droplitz is a game with multiple layers of strategy that reveal themselves to you the more you play. With a little practice, a little skill, and a little luck, you too could soon join the 1 million plus club!

Is this tournament going to be every month?

Currently, we have only plans to hold one tournament. But future tournaments aren't an impossibility.

Less than 2 days to go and there's been a bit of movement on the Droplitz monthly boards. Here's the current standings:

So taking out the known ineligibles, that leaves us with the following leaders going into the final stretch:

1. Jfk Aok
2. moonible
3. pipius
4. bradigor1981
5. III JESSEE III
6. Gunney Vol

I will say, Jfk Aok, that is a very impressive score, my friend.

Hi everyone. This is JfkAok from xbox live. Just want to say that this game is great. I loved the tourney. If there was a way for me to record playing, i would love to make a "how to master Droplitz" video or something. there's lots to this game that meets the eye and it's a shame not a lot of people could figure out how to get big chains.
Anyway, thanks for the tourney. Thanks for the great game (my girlfriend is more hooked than i am ) and good luck to everyone.

Well done JfkAok, I tried to get there, but kept making silly little errors en-route. Happy to finish where I did though and be part of a very select group to break 1m points.

To record can you not just set up a camera infront of the TV? Or even get your girlfriend to record you playing

I hope this competition idea carries on with Droplitz and also proves to be a success so that other games take the idea on. Trials HD for example with, or Even Geo Wars 2. It adds a whole new dimension to high score gaming.

Well done guys, you should be pround of what you have created here.

Can we now pressure the Oliver Brothers to bring Dizzy to XBLA?
