Atlus announces Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for PSP (PlayStation Portable) system

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — FEBRUARY 24, 2009 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc, today announced that Shin Megami Tensei®: Persona® for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, a remake of the first entry in the critically-acclaimed RPG series, will be released in North America within the calendar year. SMT: Persona stands as a proud relaunch for the award-winning series, featuring a completely redone localization and content never before seen in North America. Combined with gameplay enhancements and additions new to the remake, fans will have the chance to experience the first Persona game released in North America in a whole new way. Those looking to see the original epic in a whole new light, those who missed out the first time around, and even those PSP system owners who crave a marquee RPG: that which you seek is approaching.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is currently scheduled to release this fall.

Just got the official press release on this one! It's looking like this fall's gonna be crazy for the PSP... LittleBigPlanet, Hannah Montana (haha, I kid), Rock Band, Assassin's Creed and now Persona! Perfect!

Maybe Sony themselves? They had the "Destination Playstation" even where they announced a ton of PSP games (LBP, Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, MotorStorm, etc.).

This much, at least. I never played DS so I can't really say, but after playing P2:EP the desire to play IS is ridiculous.
Plus, I heard Tatsuya can get a contact where he makes motorcycle noises, which sounds almost as awesome as the "AHHHHH! Alcohol is my life!" contact in EP

Very exciting. Was hoping they would bring this over.
Saw this on IGN this morning before I received the Atlus email and smiled.
I will buy this, even though I probably will not be able to play it for... who knows how long.
Heck - I even bought the PS P2 Eternal Punishment release a few months ago and haven't had a chance to open the plastic.
