What are the participating retailers for the Catherine Deluxe set? I went into a Gamestop today (where I have my SE Catherine preordered) to switch over to the Deluxe edition...
The guy said it wasn't in their system....
I believe that Amazon has the Deluxe Edition up, but I have credit at Gamestop, so I am just curious if I need to go ahead and get it from Amazon or not or if it will be available at other places.
Thanks.

We'll update our purchase page http://catherinethegame.com/purchase.html if and when more retailers come on board.

Gamestop is on their list but I also know Gamestop only gets so many Atlus Deluxe set things. It would not be the first time I have heard of them selling out before the game actually shipped. I can also tell you that is exactly what happens when they sell out of a preorder item, it gets dropped from their system so they can't order more.

Aside from those released by Atlus, what games, if any are you looking forward to planned for a release this year?

What... Did the people who came up with those not see the movie? How am I supposed to eat them without getting them wet?

Too bad it doesn't have appropriately shaped brown & white marshmallows that somehow turn green when in milk.

Are you guys going to dub 'Persona 4: The Animation' ? Also, are you guys interested in releasing a 'Catherine: Behind the scenes' DVD, y' know, to show us the whole localizing process?
Thanks!

Since we're not in the business of confirming or denying things in this forum, I'll have to pass on your first question. But make sure you are breathing regularly; to my knowledge we've never done an anime before.
As for a behind the scenes DVD, we weren't recording the process, so you'd really be looking at some kind of localization retrospective. It'd be pretty boring, unless the Catherine team counting how many more gray hairs this project gave them is exciting to you.

Bah.. thats a shame. I love seeing behind-the-scenes stuff in terms of voicework. It is a lot of fun to both see the voice actors performing (they can get pretty dramatic physically despite not being seen in the game) and hearing the staff and actors talk about the game, characters and story and their impressions of it all... Just need a semi-decent digital video device.. heck my EVO HTC can record up to 720P video pretty nicely.. though the audio is lacking.
I would love to see a bit of this done in the future if ever possible.. makes a hell of an added perk as a "Deluxe set bonus".
Or even just a webcast to drum up followers and attention for a game (sort of like what the current video you did for Catherine does).
But yeah I am sure you guys have oodles of reasons why something time consuming like that would never happen.. *sigh* i'll just go cry into my Gremlin cereal...

Oh? was it a particularly difficult localization? Just curious.

Seeing as SMT is the flagship series of Atlus, are there any employees that wish they had a different series to say that they worked on? Further on, if you have a favorite game you localized, is it an SMT game?

I imagine that all jobs do but they have an effective coping mechanism in place!

Although we've pretty much all worked on our fair share of SMT titles, for every one of those, there's at least two other random projects Atlus is working on concurrently at any given time. Even though I can't fully speak for the others, I think it's safe to say some of those end up being our favorite projects.
If you look at the credits for our SMT titles, you'll see a lot of consistency in the names, mostly because that unofficial "core team" works really well together and because they have a genuine passion for the series. When they need a bigger team for the bigger titles, more of us get pulled in.

Also curious. I like the "I guess it pretty much does everything" line with the PS2
I'd like to think Persona 2, as IS came out in 1999 I think.
EDIT: actually checking the date on Wikipedia the date of the email (June 23) is scary close to the Japanese release date of IS - June 24, 1999.
