I'd pick this up, it'll sit nicely next to my copy of Growlanser Generations.

I'm starting to think we aren't getting Growlanser VI. I think V did too badly to warrant it, and it's getting late.
This has a chance, though. "Featuring the far superior battle system from Growlanser Generations!"

It has more of a chance since it's the first game, more people would rather start with this than V or VI. Hopefully SCEA doesn't block this or Persona.

Never played the series before, but I guess this would be a good place to start (dur).
Day one. I'll end up buying all the others too, because I'm anal like that.

Start with the "Generations" 2-in-1 pack before HoW if you want a better opinion of the series. (no offense to Atlus USA)

Growlanser II & III are amazing, especially II. So much replay value in both.
V is okay. The story is good, but the battle system isn't nearly as fun. It's more of an action RPG with strategy elements. IV and under are all strategy.

Generations is hard to find now though. RIP Working Designs. Maybe if Atlus USA can bring this over they can find a way to reprint Generations for those who don't have it as well?

Only about $60 on Amazon for Generations. Not too bad, I'll look into the gameplay and stuff later.
I'll need something to fill the void since .hack is ending *hysterical sobs*

Atlus USA said it themselves when they were marketing Growlanser V; Generations puts you in the role of an omniscient traffic cop, loosely speaking.
Each character is controlled using line-based movement. You set up their paths, dictate their actions, and then everything takes place in real time.
It's chaotic, but fun. And there's three different possible outcomes for every mission, so there's plenty to drive a perfectionist mad.

I hope Atlus does this. We already have the sequel and prequel in English. I'd like to see the story that started it all.

It's the story of a lovely lady
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls
All of them had hair of gold, like their mother
The youngest one in curls
It's a story of a man named Brady
Who was busy with three boys of his own
They were four men living all together
Yeah, but they were all alone
Until the one day, one day when the lady met the fellow
And they knew, and they knew it was much more than a hunch
Then they knew this group must somehow form a family
That's the way, that's the way, that's the way they all became
The Brady Bunch

I guess I was beat to it, I was hoping to get a nice thread going with some talk of the series but at this point I am too exhausted to care. Don't miss out on this opportunity Atlus, I doubt it will ever come up again.

I was truly surprised by this announcement, and I sincerely hope Atlus USA doesn't miss the chance to bring to the western audience one of the finest chapters of this great saga. Maybe it was fate that G4 was skipped (and, sadly, I'm not too optimistic on G6, at this point), but getting an english release of G1 would be a boon for the Growlanser fanbase.

The thing is, SCEA will not allow straight ports to be localized, so this title (and Persona for that matter) have to have at least some changes (can be minor) in order not to be considered a straight port. If they do this, this title will be allowed over here.
In any case, I'm a HUGE SRPG fan, and I'd love to have this. (it is SRPG right?)

Hold your horses Ernest. No one said Atlus USA is publishing this game yet. I wouldn't start praising them till they start announcing their intentions.
At the moment keep your pitchfork, torch, and usless online petition at the ready.

Hah,hah,hah......you may be right @byrc
But I have faith in Atlus
Besides,Growlanser is the official properties of Atlus,so they have every rights to publish it,right?
After all,Atlus deserves to have our mental support to turn this into reality, right?
And it's true that Atlus is one of the best publishing companies ever

normally I don't like making statements that can appear to come off as fact, but I have to agree with you. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my japanese games fix.

Ooh. Want.
I've never played a Growlanser game before, but I just picked up Generations at Gamestop for $20 the other day, seemed too good to pass up.
