IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — JANUARY 27, 2009 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today announced that Shin Megami Tensei®: Devil Summoner 2™: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, a new chapter in the stunningly original action RPG series for PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, is making its way to North America on May 12th. Improved over its predecessor in every way, Devil Summoner 2 is an action RPG breath of fresh air, with a deep, easy-to-control combat system, nearly two hundred demons to negotiate with, collect, and fuse, and a variety of strategies to employ and master. Experience a 1920’s Tokyo bustling with cases to solve, criminals to bring to justice, and the threat of the mysterious King Abaddon looming on the horizon.

For a limited time, and out of an exceptionally small fixed number of units, North American gamers will have even more reason to pick up the game that raced to the top of the Japanese game sales charts upon its release. Each and every launch copy of Devil Summoner 2 will feature a rare Raiho plushie doll (not available for sale separately). I am glad that this was finally announced, but can you release an adult version of the game that doesn't come with a doll. It seems like a waste to just trash it.

Well....If you live in the US, you could find out some more places on gamestop.com new/used and if any are in your area. Gamestop will also ship the game from other stores to one near you if needed. However, if I were to do this...I'd DO IT FAST.

Even though I didn't play the first I will still get this. I still have plans to get the first one, but with the announcement of DS2 being in "etremely limited" quantities I'm gonna be picking this one up right when it comes out.

But honestly, what is their definition of 'extremely limited'? Far as we know, it could be a PR ploy. However, since Devil Summoner 1 has a quite a few places with the first one new online, it's possible the first one didn't sell as much as thought, so this time they'll sell more in line to what they got with the first one?

From what I've read, this one fixes a lot of issues I have with the first one, my biggest gripe being the static camera issue in battles, I can't tell you how many times I had to use the enemies shadow on the ground for reference to how close I am, or even that my allies were so "big" that I couldn't see where I was when they were blocking my view.

Nah, I've seen a couple of games that were still 'rating pending' available for preorder.
