Great article. I have always been fascinated by this process and checked out a lot of the behind-the-scenes for animated movies just to glimpse at the recording sessions. I've always been impressed that a lot of the voice actors for film(and I would assume games too) really put their all into each line, going so far as almost acting out the moment IRL so their voice has the energy and inflection it needs. If anyone has ever played a game with bored voice actors just "phoning it in for a check" they'll know the difference is HUGE.
The Mod work I am doing now will eventually require voice work, much of which I can do myself due to the myriad of good to cheesy voices I can do on the fly. But getting more folk with skills and (hopefully) practice will likely be essential.
I am impressed at the schwank they put into the studio. If I ever get the chance to get some classes on radio and television to better learn to control and use my voice, i'd love to do this kind of work, whether at the mic or at the soundboard. fun times.
I hope they do a follow up to this(maybe with some outtakes? or a video of the session?) for P5, even if it is an unloackable on the game disc.
