Resident Evil Revelations:
Now this is honestly how I want my Resident Evil to be. It controls as well, if not better than RE4 and 5, but is paced more like the classics. It has its shortcomings, for one, it jumps around from character to character too much, which often harms the atmosphere. Aboard the Zenobia the game is at its strongest, but elsewhere it just doesn't maintain that strength. Still, those parts are short lived, and as the game follows Jill, it shines as a solid experience. It's moody, and often creepy, with excellent visuals, and sound design, and it has a good list of enjoyable set pieces. This was a really solid blend of new and old, and while I don't think it's as good as game as RE4, in some ways, I like it more.

Yeah, RE Revelations really did a lot of things that I liked about old RE games while still keeping it fresh. Really that's the direction I would have liked the numbered series to move to instead of what it is today.
Speaking of the game though; Seems it may be getting a console release now too. That isn't completely confirmed just yet though.

Don't know if it'll count, but....
Infinite Space EX mode.
It has no story and the charcters, ships, moduels, and fighters are all from the looks random. Took longer to beat then many games I see get listed as well.

Final Fantasy X (PS2)
I didn't really play as many games as I thought I would last year. I didn't have as much time as I used to and frankly, I was using a lot of that time to watch movies. But I finally beat FFX early this morning, making it the first Final Fantasy I've ever beaten. It took quite a bit of grinding in a couple of spots, but I really enjoyed it from the gameplay to the story to the Sphere Grid. I'm surprised Square went with a story as heavy as this, and greatly appreciated how well it paid off.
Now to maybe go and slog my way through the rest of my Fate/Extra playthrough because I think playing that for so long made me disinterested in picking up any game for a long time.

Phantasy Star II (Phantasy Star Collection)
Beat it on the way home from MAGfest yesterday. Not really that much to say about this one, seeing as it only has one ending.

That's happened to me, too. Not with Nocturne, specifically, but with plenty of other games. Both Devil Survivor 1 and 2, and Phantasy Star 2, to name a few recent examples. I still haven't beaten DS2.

Tales of the Abyss (3DS)
I did better on my first playthrough of the 3DS than my first playthrough of the PS2 version. Managed to steal the best capacity core too, so my next playthrough will be a breeze.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (PS3/NA)
Beating Wesker was tough.. I had little rifle ammo and handgun ammo but somehow, I managed it.. Now, I can remove that 6 gig game data and install new game files..

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition - Story and Lost in Nightmares (PS3/NA)
Samurai Warriors 2: Empires (PS2/NA)
Took me 16 hours.. I got all 25 fiefs.. Reached Rank 2 - Minister of Law.. Recruited almost every general except Ieyasu Tokugawa and his leader, Uesugi Kenshin.. I had tried to recruit Ieyasu Tokugawa like 10 times straight but no luck.. I also tried to recruit Kenshin's lieutenants but failed to recruit 2 of them who were easy to defeat.. In fact, Kenshin was weakest of all.. Took him down in less than 30 seconds.. My custom character ruler is at Lv20 (max level) with a 4th level weapon, Oda Nobunaga style..
By the way, I finished Lost in Nightmares Amateur Mode as Chris Redfield in about 1.5 hours straight as that there are no save points in this prequel chapter.. It was tough occasionally but somehow, I managed it with plain luck and little skill..

In January I've been playing a lot of Call of Duty but it's not to dominate it's story or even it's achievements, just to play really. For the rest of the month starting today though I will be switching over to Crysis 2 and FarCry 3. Crysis to get the last 2 achievements I need (ranking up to the max level will get me both) and FarCry to beat the story and start on getting it 100%. I want to have Crysis 2 maxed out by Feb when Crysis 3 comes out. Yeah I play like nothing but shooters right now however in the time in between I'm playing Forza Horizon to do the same thing.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition - Story and Lost in Nightmares (PS3/NA)
Samurai Warriors 2: Empires (PS2/NA)
Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires (PS3/NA)
Devil Kings (PS2/NA)
Taiko Drum Master (PS2/NA)
Devil King (Oda Nobunaga) has obtained total conquest at Lv5 with 1600+ kills and his first weapon Unity is at Lv47.. Unlocked Hornet..
In Taiko Drum Master, I beaten every song on easy mode.. My eyes now feel uncomfortable.. I even managed to score perfect on quite a few songs..

Resident Evil Revelations
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All:
This game is almost universally considered weaker than the original, and that is certainly true, but it's definitely a great game in its own right. While the cases and overall plot aren't quite as memorable as the original, and the "Psyche-lock" feature pretty hit or miss, the game is still very enjoyable from beginning to end. The final case in particular presents a very interesting scenario that I think provided for both great character progression, and a much needed dose of spice to the game's setting, finally giving you a less than perfect situation for defense.

2013 goal: 2 games defeated per month.
January:
Dishonored: 7.5/10. Not a bad game, though, really, a pretty easy game. Towards the end of the game, I realized I was just overthinking everything, and then I just blew through by stopping time and teleporting.

Mirror's Edge
Hmm... platforming was fun, but the combat was sadistically unbalanced. Mirror's Edge is the only game I've ever said the f word at. The ending was pants too. Overall I enjoyed the game though, truly fun and unique. Looking forward to the sequel.
