Default P4 Arena on Vita?

At the moment, there has been no word from either Atlus Japan or Arc System Works on whether or not Persona 4 Arena will eventually be ported over to the PlayStation Vita; however, it's worth noting that the most recent entry in ArcSys' home-grown BlazBlue series has made the jump to the new handheld, in the wake of two prior ports over to the PSP.

Assuming ArcSys wouldn't have more of a logistical problem with such a conversion than they already did for Continuum Shift Extend, would the odds be good that Atlus Japan might decide to go ahead with a Vita release; and if so, would the odds be good that Atlus USA would bring such a version over to North America?

For my part, I have a PSP and Vita, but no current-gen console; so I'd have a personal reason for wanting to see P4 Arena show up on Sony's latest portable gaming device.

Is there anyone else on the boards that would also hope for such a conversion?

Yes, there is, the newcomer here. XD

Well, I also have both Vita and PSP - I bought BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND cuz I'm a BlazBlue fan (dammit, I frickin' love when Tomokazu Sugita yells "Jin! Teme! Baka ka?")... but my first reason for buying Vita was, no, IS the Persona 4 Arena and The Golden.

I heard that Atlus have plans to convert P4A to PS Vita, but... I'm not all sure.
I think the greatest problem there should be the DLCs, which I WILL get, if goes to Vita... Also, they released Gundam AGE's Flit Asuno outfit for Yu, in P4A, so they probably will release other character's outfits for Yousuke, Chie, Yukiko and all the crew.

So, since the Vita does not have the best place in the new PSN, Atlus and ArcSystem should, right now, trying to make those outfits AND, if the game "cometh from the sea of the soul" to Vita, those outfits probably are going to be OR DLC OR Hidden costumes (Like Disgaea 3 cameo characters) which are unlocked after meeting certain conditions.

EDIT: We all know just a thing - Atlus & ArcSys are not going to let the Dual Audio get away in P4A. I heard PS3's P4A have Dual Audio, like BlazBlue series, so we can buy the USA version with no worries about the voice - though it will probably not be the same in P4G... unfortunatly .-.
Well, I hope Atlus put the Dual Audio in P4G or make it as a DLC...
Note: Since P4 the Animation is there, probably a lot of people will want to listen the original dubbing (i'm included on this) in P4G.

I am not hopeful at conversion but a physical vita cartridge of P4A would be sweet!

But I doubt there will be one. I know the gameplay and such Arcsys does it, but to make it to that port, I bet they'll have to ask permission to Atlus, then again, Atlus never does games for more than two consoles (PS3, Xbox360 to PSP for example)... I may be wrong, but oh well.

Speaking of PS Vita use, is there any word on whether or not the upcoming Cross-Controller feature would work for players running Persona 4 Arena on a PS3?

If there's a want and demand large enough, or if the game becomes popular enough, I'm sure we'll get a Vita port

I'd buy a Vita version of Arena SO HARD that it's already pre-ordered from the beyond.

I'd definitely buy one for my vita! Because of the way my company works, im usually traveling a lot just to fix/manage web aps/sites in different states. And each travel takes me about 5 hours...

Having a fun fighter to play on my vita would make it worth taking 'it out for a ride', even if I also have a console version of the game.

I haven't gotten a Vita yet, although Persona 4 Golden is really tempting me to do so. But I would feel awful getting a system for only one game, as much as I absolutely love Persona 4.

If, however, they decided to release P4A on the Vita, I would get the system the day they announced it and get both games when they are released. I would still get P4A on the PS3, nothing beats sitting on the couch and playing on my big screen but I tend to have a really long commute to and from work and having this to play would be a godsend.

Arc Systems could do it if Atlus wish so, we'll just have to see if P4G will be a great Vita game for Atlus first.

+1

i think PSVITA it's a great platform because of his touch screen front and back and I think I could give a unique touch to P4A

Thought I'd drop in and say that I would most definitely buy a Vita version of P4A.
Much like Nerroth, I do not own any home consoles, and I personally don't plan on ever getting one either, which is why I'd love for this game to get a Vita release.

I will throw in my support for this as well, since I already plan on caving and getting the Vita for Persona 4 Golden.

Trine 2 can be play on three console : 360, PS3 and PC

Yeah, that could be an interesting idea. But, if that project were to be done, Atlus needs at least two condition to check : The sales of P4G and the sales of P4A. If P4A aren't sell enough on the console version, why do Atlus would create this game for the Vita? With all that region lock, I'm pretty sure some people will not buy it... And of course, Atlus nedd to ask Arc System if they want...

Don't you think that, exactly if P4A fails, it'd be a waste not to create a Vita version, since they've already created the code, the music and the sprites etc? The portability factor might attract a lot of people, and if they release it, like, some 8 months later than the console versions, then a lot of people would have mostly forgotten about the whole region locking business - or at least, enough to look at the game with renewed interest if it's going to get a new release, because, to be fair, everyone who's boycotting this game /was/ once interested in the game, and they obviously wanted the game enough to make a big deal about not wanting it now.
Also, I don't think the Vita, unlike the PS3 apparently, supports region locking (though I really wouldn't know for sure)? That'd solve the problem a lot of people have with the game, and after that, it's 'just' Persona, except as a fighter. It'd sell lots, I'd think.

But that's all wishful thinking, of course. ^^;
I don't think that Arc System would have anything against a Vita port, though. They've ported their BlazBlue games to all consoles except the DS, and I fail to see why they wouldn't want to give P4A the same treatment.
If there's any company that would be against a Vita release (for whatever reason), it'd sooner be Atlus than Arc System, don't you think? And I see no reason for Atlus to oppose a Vita release, so honestly, I have faith that a Vita port will come, sooner or later.

But again, that's all wishful thinking, of course.

(Also, wasn't P4G the Vita's best-selling game when it came out in Japan recently? I don't think its sales will be anywhere near bad in the West, so there's no need to worry about that either.)

The case may be that the game is $60 and Vita titles are $40. If anything, they'll wait a couple of months after the release to announce the Vita version.

I think the more likely scenario is we'll see a Vita version pop up once a "Super" edition/patch is decided. That more or less solidifies a fighting game has enough worth for further support. It's not about the price at all really, I think the Extend version of Blazblue is enough to support that claim.

I would absolutely love to see P4A pop up on the Vita, love it (more-so than a console release even). That said, if the PS3 version retains its region-lock upon release, I wont buy any version of this game, ever, not even used nor if later releases take it off. Bluntly speaking, the game will be 100% dead to me, forever.

By the by, are you Shizuka from the XSEED forums by chance?

I appreciate your input, but let's not take the region-lock discussion here. There are other places to discuss that issue.

"Persona 4 Arena, now the worlds first Region Locked PSVita game"

Ya, I'd rather this just stays the hell away from the Vita before it infects that with its disease too.

The Vita is region free, man... IF there isn't that option of doing so or not.

Just like isabelyes said, can we please keep these comments to the region lock thread. Which is the thread made for that discussion.

I would like another reason to get a vita but why is everyone getting so worked up over the fact that the PS3 version will be region locked? I don't care I am getting the Xbox360 version of P4A anyways.

I would love to see P4A be released on the Vita at some point, I mean I'm still picking up a copy for the PS3 (even though I still don't have the system yet), but since I'm rarely home these days a portable version would be preferred since I could pick the game up and play it anywhere without being tied to a tv.

If there would be a Vita version of P4A, I would like only 2 things:

-Cross-play with the PS3 version
-Custom OSTs (since I heard that you will not be able to play whatever song you got stored in your PS3 while this game is running)

P4A for psp.

The Vita isnt burning right now in japan and the rest of the world, psp games keep coming in japan so maybe Arena will be in psp and later on Vita when the system becomes popular (Just please no Region Lock)

I would buy the game for Vita if it got ported but since I'm already buying the PS3 version I would hope I wouldn't have to pay $40.

I just don't think 2D fighters ever pan out that well on handhelds. I think 3D fighters do since they're less reliant on arcade sticks for precision inputs and less twitch based. I loved games like Soulcalibur II to pieces, but it never gave my left thumb blisters like Street Fighter did.

Stupid shoryukens.

At first, I thought the same thing, but 2D fighters on the Vita works so well I was astonished. The size of the vita, the tightly knit and responsive buttons, and the <3 analog sticks...

I play alot of UMVC3 on the Vita, and I've enjoyed it so much that I put 100 hours in, 50 of which is just practicing in training room to pull off combos that people wouldnt think are able on a handheld...then running into the upper rankings and seeing people do crazier combos with the vita controls...No complaints on the controls at all it works so well for the Vita

Honestly, The shoryuken motions may be hard to beginners, but with some practice doing it on reaction becomes easy.

HOWEVER, Arena has no SHoryuken motions in sight. Any form of DP is done with Pressing B+D.

The hardest input (which is not hard at all) is DOwndowndown + Attack

Anyway, on topic...

If the idea for P4 Arena Vita ever came to fruition, Atlus could build upon the release of Golden with additional P4Arena Vita content...Such as:

-With the Save File of Persona 4: The Golden, one can unlock Marie as the Navigator/Announcer (And that could later be released as DLC so people who are only into fighting games can get it) and maybe special P4:Golden Palletes

-A pallete customizer would be cool, but not needed.

-Social Link Features with Near. -> You can drop your "ghost" or in Persona Lingo "Shadow" around locations that you pass, and if people pick up your Ghost or shadow, they could defeat it and level up an Arcana! Determining what your Arcana is can be done with your Birth date/year. Though not significant to the game, it could be kinda cool.

-PS3xVita Online Crossplay (if it's not too expensive to patch ps3 with it or hard to run both witth the same netcode)
Heres Seth Killian talking about online crossplay for sfxt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOyW1...ure=plpp_video

-a guy on a different forum wanted custom soundtracks like on BBCSEX Vita, so that could be an easy add-in

-A sidenote, RAGEQUITTING is very prominent on the Vita, due to people...being bad. and abusing homescreen. So a way to punish a ragequitter would be beneicial.

-Important DLCs (such as future characters) That are released before the PSVita be free on the Vita.

None of this is needed and a straight port would still be awesome, but...worth mentioning!
________________________
As to why a P4 Arena Vita would be an awesome release:

-Persona 4: Golden Will most likely do well, seeing as Persona 4 is LEGENDARY. a Follow up to that will give Fans looking for more Persona something to play, and with Arena's simplified controls, it could be a great gateway into the Fighting game community.

-A perfect Port should not be that hard, seeing as BBCSEX accomplished that and then some.

-Persona 4:Arena is the bestselling fighting game in Japan 4-6 DAYS IN. Thats amazing

-People like me who are always out due to college and such dont have to hog around a console everywhere D:

-being able to practice combos while in wait at a tournament...

-Because we Atlus fans will throw money at everything you produce.

Just my 2 +129464r78524 cents.
