So the box art has been revealed.
I preferred the previous one though since I feel that it conveys the "arena" theme better. Plus it looks a lot more epic.
Any chance that we can get a reversible box art with this one on the back?
By the way, why is "Mayonaka TV" on the box art? Isn't it supposed to be "Midnight Channel"?

They went with the original. Good stuff.
They even kept the "Mayonaka", pretty cool.

Yeah, any mode you can select the stage for, you can also select the BGM. That includes when playing online.

I noticed something interesting. You know how the Persona 4 characters all have Personas based off of Japanese mythology? Isn't it interesting how Labrys has Ariadne, who is from Greek mythology? You would think that since she lives in Inaba with the Persona 4 characters, she'd have a Persona from Japanese myth. Maybe it has more to do with her origin as being a creation of the Kirijo Group, in which Aegis has a Greek myth Persona as well.

Sweet! I'm glad BlazBlue's customizations made its way into Persona 4 Arena.

Labrys is a Persona 3 character and that's why she has a Persona based off of Greek Mythology

I don't know where I can post this question, so if anything wrong, please forgive me. I read the news that P4A will be region-locked on both Xbox 360 and Ps3. So, It means that the version of the game will depend on the ps3's version. I always thought that ps3 is region free and i can play with all the game's version i want. But, according to this http://www.atlus.com/forum/showpost....postcount=2483, i have to buy the right version for my ps3. The trouble is i don't know which version is right for my ps3. I bought my ps3 at Malaysia on my holiday, it is CECH 3006B series. I sure it isn't Euro, USA or JP verion, so which P4U version should i buy? I'm so confused, please someone help me. I love P4A so much, i really want to paly it. ATLUS, please tell me which version should i buy >.< .
Sr for my terrible English ToT.

Yeah please someone tell me the region lock rumors are false because if they are not I and many others will be left in the dirt. I own a NTSC J PS3 and live in the U.S.A I would like to own the U.S version so I could understand the story mode that I hear is going to be awesome. An answer to my question would be much appreciated.

Yes, I hope to hear those rumors are false. If you want to be the first to sell a region locked PS3 title, I won't be buying it even if I can play it.

Yeah I know I saw that post already that's part of the reason why I'm here posting I'm wondering Why would they do this?
Will there be a patch to fix this later on? No probably not right. I would just like to know their reasoning for doing this, because almost no games for PS3 are region blocked. I hope this doesn't become standard practice for ATLUS with future PS3 games....dang I was really looking forward to this. What a Shame.

I think people are confused because a) a post on the forums isnt exactly definitive and b) if it is region locked it will be the first (or certainly one among a tiny handful) of region locked PS3 games

I would say no, the region check for a disc supercedes just about everything on the disc as it is almost like a hardware compatibility check. If you stuck an xbox disc into a ps3 it wouldn't know what to do with it, even with a patch.
I'm actually kind of appalled at the amount of heartache and upset the possibility of region locking is causing among the fans. If Atlus JP determines that they should region lock their games, it is not a decision they're going to make lightly. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that they felt it necessary to keep a safe profit margin and allow themselves (and, to a degree, other localizing publishers) to keep going and NOT fold. Both of these games are being massively promoted and I am betting they have high hopes to clear a pretty hefty number of units sold that they can budget their next few IP's properly.
Or it is simply a matter of content. There has already been a mess of hullabaloo about some of what we're seeing in the new P4G and I wouldn't be surprised if some of that doesn't appear in NA region discs. I COULD see them region locking to try and discourage importation and regional cross selling of units.
Personally I suspect the money aspect. But I also know th efans usually don't care about reasons, they just want what they want and if that isn't the case then the rain doth fall.
::Edit:: It's odd there is so much panic but there are not official statements or real hints that they're going to region lock these games.. lol. much ado about nothing i guess. But just in case.. I'll also paste wiki cause all answers are somewhere in a wiki *lol*

Pricing. It is difficult to maintain a single pricing structure that can be applied worldwide. Region-locking a console means that there is no need for pricing parity across the world; different territories can have different prices for games without people simply shopping "wherever is cheaper".
Sensitive regions. Some games could be regarded as offensive for religious or political reasons, and regional lockout may be required to prevent these games from being distributed in sensitive countries.
Staged launches. If a console is region-locked, then staged launches of the games would be easier, as console producers could easily control the huge bow-wave of people wanting a game the moment it is released.
Piracy. Piracy is more common in some countries than others. For example it is particularly common in China as compared to North America. Region locks can prevent pirated games from these countries from being played on systems outside of their designated region.

Another thing that seems odd about the whole thing is that with the 360 its a common expectation that the games will be region locked. However its the direct opposite for the PS3, literally over 99% (if not 100%) of the games are region free. So deciding to region lock the game and the only announcement of it is on an obscure thread in an unrelated forum by forum staff seems a little, well, off. Especially as numerous online retailers still have the game listed as region free, Im seeing a lot of returns if the region locking does turn out to be correct.

My update in the other thread:
Sorry for the delayed confirmation, but yes, the PS3 version game will be region-locked. I certainly can't offer details as to why, but there might be an official response at some point.
To reiterate, our version of the game works for the North and South America regions. Also keep in mind that both the NA and JP versions have both English and Japanese text/voice options, making them nearly identical. I'm unsure of what the case will be for the EU version.

That's as disappointing as it is bizarre. The only upside is at least we received confirmation early enough that people (including myself) can hopefully cancel our now useless pre-orders.

Yeah!!!! JP version will release at 27 this month, US version come a week later. I did cancel my pre-order because my HK version Ps3 can not work with the P4A US version. ATLUS! why didn't you tell us earlier? I have to wait for the Asia ver but i haven't heard any information about it. Someone please tell me the Asia ver's release date. I think I'm doomed now.

I was considering importing the EU version since they tend to be cheaper, if having a longer wait time for trade-off. It looks like Pqube is doing the publishing in EU, and I've bought a BlazBlue game they published and was able to play it on my NA PS3, but I dunno if they'll region lock the game as well or not. So best bet is to just buy it from NA retailers, right?

Hmm well looks like I'll have to buy the JP version...however this news of JP having English voice/text is great indeed. Quick question though will I be able to buy and use any of the U.S DLC? Not likely right. Also thanks for answering my questions.

Are we going to get the same DLC the Japanese edition gets, or has there even been a confirmation that the US version will also be receiving DLC ? It would be sad if don't get any DLC or we lose a few things stateside and don't have any method of obtaining the missing things.
That's really the only thing that worried me when reading the game was region locked.

Then I'm safe . Waiting for August so I can buy P4A in here... I still don't have the PS3, but I'm collecting the games so they can't run out of stock, besides, I'm close to getting it.

So news comes out about the region locking as I am moving to S. Korea this Wednesday.
Seriously Atlus, one of the benefits of the PS3 is the *lack* of region locking.
This is just retarded.

This is not the kind of precedent a company should want to set.

Although it's a bummer, we don't know what caused Atlus to take this action (especially because it's so rare for PS3 games, and Atlus games in general to be region locked).
I mean, my guess is either because the JP and US release dates are so close, it was done to prevent reverse importing or maybe it was a stipulation for having duel audio/specific DLC.
Whatever the case, it's not that big of a deal, since it was confirmed some posts ago that the JP and US versions are nearly identical, with both versions including JP and ENG text/audio options.
The only thing it might effect is whether the US doesn't get all the DLC JP gets.
