I'll admit this is a lot of fun and cut its way into my Mother 3 / Brandish 2 schedule... on the other hand, I haven't even opened MML since I got it last year.

I'm constantly looking for the "Auto Fight" button though! The battles can be a little slow, there should have been an option to disable battle animations.

About a demo... KitN should absolutely get one on the Nintendo channel...

Well, you can skip through some battle animations by spamming A button, but yeah, I do wish there was a way to quicken the battles overall. I feel the biggest complaint people/reviewers seem to have against this game ("it's repetitive") could have been largely avoided with options like that.

Yeah I know you can skip them by repeatedly tapping A, but my (3rd...) DS is brand new and the buttons are still a little sharp/tough. I kid you not, my right thumb hurts from playing MWMW so much. I could have done with holding X à la Persona 4's triangle button.

So far I'm really enjoying the writing. I haven't burst out laughing or anything, but I did smile here and there I see it as a good thing when I want to see the next piece of dialogue in any game, just to enjoy it.

Combat is really fast, which is awesome. I'm also glad you can pretty much speed up animations, be it on the map when healing, pouting, or performing certain attacks. I first noticed this when I managed to get Pinky to learn an attack that damaged front-line enemies and drained their health but didn't want to keep seeing it

I just completed my first dungeon!

Actually, the main purpose of this thread is that I wanted to share with you guys my favorite and most enjoyable moment in the game so far I had gotten to the fourth boss (I believe their name was Lone Warriror) and I decided to up the ante...

lolz.

Anyway, after I found out that pouting effects stacked, I did "Gimme more EXP!," "I hate being poor!," and "These enemies stink!" (made the boss stronger) on its tile and retried so many times because every time I'd get wiped out I'd come up with a different strategy (which made me have to get moar PP!) XD

Gah! It was so annoying (albeit masochistically fun) fighting the boss and finding out that if only I had two more PP, things might be better...! I proceeded to farm money to eat and raise my PP until I was satisfied...of course, I'd go in soooo sure that I could take him, but then think, "Crap...maybe if I get two more PP for this..." and stuff.

Sometimes I'd restart because Pinky would get killed (horrible, horrible HP/defense at that point--at least with toughened enemies) first right from the get-go =/ Oh, and some were experimental battles, too--I wanted to see if maybe Paro could learn something...

Nope <_<

Anyway, all of it was such an interesting experience and really made me appreciate the game so much more Seriously, you can make this game as easy or hard as you want, and I really like that.

In the end, I made them my bitch with Ladies first/Holy Bombs/Hey! Stand Still!/healing/repeat It felt sooo good when I won.

I'm about seven hours in and loving the experience--it's certainly unique.

Some things I really like: being able to run away from boss battles; items are useful; the way magic is learned through Paro *(I'm not sure I understand it quite yet, though); Pinky's method to stat boosts and things he can equip; and most importantly...pouting! Oh, and the manual is great, too, by the way

I was a bit skeptical about this game at first, honestly, but I'm definitely glad I purchased it and that you guys localized it. Thank you

*Maybe I just think everything goes into the "Other" category Just to be clear, I have to get hit [with Elise] a certain amount of times with spells, right? All in one battle or does the learning stack?
Actually, I've never really bothered to use the "escape" command because the most common scenario is that the princess's stats are stacked enough that the damage she takes is still minimal. Can't say the same for "Pink" though.

And yes, I'm playing the Japanese original. わがまま technically translates to "selfish", so hearing it called as "pout" makes no sense to me.

As for Pink's skill set, Pink can learn magic spells through the "imitate" feature as long as the part being imitated is the head of the monster you just defeated. Once Pink has learned the magic, Pink can essentially cast the magic any time you desire as long as Pink has the MP for it. Physical skills are more dependent on the "body" and the "arms". There are a few Physical skills that come with the "head" part, such as the generic Sting skill from those beetles you fight on the grasslands. Most Physical skills are limited in the sense that you MUST have a specific body part in order to use it and that once you switched out the body part with a different monster's part, you cannot use that particular skill anymore.

The whole imitation process occurs randomly and can get pretty annoying if you're in a hurry.

So is it considered cheating when you reduce the boss' level? It made me feel dirty, but I was in a bit of a hurry and would rather grind to earn the lost experience.

You can reduce enemies' levels? I mean, I've done it in Dungeons & Dragons with spells and such, but... this sounds different.

Why would it be considered cheating when the whole point of the game is that you can have it your way?

Sorry for asking here but does anyone know where to find the Shogun Wolf in the West End? Apparently he's suppose to be in the dungeon but I never seem to run into him. He's the last quest I need for that area too.

Just got it today. I have to say that I felt that the writing is somewhat kitschy -- but not to the detriment of the game. I actually appreciate that the game is self aware and, while the game is simplistic, it's enough fun to slog through without having the frustration of poor voice acting (leers at Star Ocean: The Last Hope).

I just got Paro in the game... hopefully I can get further in pretty soon!

I imagine you already figured it out by now (seeing how my reply to your question is three days late....), but he's at the second level of the dungeon. You can't miss him... unless you missed the stairway to the second level.

I really, really enjoyed this game up until the last level where I had to get a lot of cash to get the ultimate weapon. Even with pouting it took a long time since I'd blown a lot of what I had to eat a meal and raise Elise's Pout Points.

Argh, I want to say so much more but I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just end with saying that I adore Nero and I was very happy with the ending.

I loved it.

It's a fascinating concept in a game, and the character development is pretty good.

@Elizabeth
Ha, I totally know what you mean about blowing all your money on meals to power her up. And your avatar is Epic Win.
