First for the Faithful: Atlus announces Hexyz Force for PSP system
ATLUS ANNOUNCES HEXYZ FORCE™ FOR PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) SYSTEM
We're too Hexyz for our shirts.

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- JANUARY 7, 2010 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today announced that it will bring Hexyz Force, a bold new RPG for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system courtesy of Sting (developers of Riviera, Yggdra Union, and the award-winning Knights in the Nightmare), to North America on May 25th. Built from the ground up to take full advantage of the power of PSP system, extensively optimized to deliver virtually non-existent load times, and boasting some of the most polished visuals and sounds found to date in a handheld RPG, Hexyz Force is the consummate gamer's game, the kind of experience and final package genre fans would make if they could call the shots.
Hexyz Force also stands as one of the most narrative-driven portable RPGs of all time, giving users not one, but two separate campaigns to embark upon. Complete and whole unto themselves, the two stories present radically different sides of a sweeping saga, satisfying gamers in search of a deep, handheld roleplaying experience while ultimately providing value-minded players with two games for the price of one.
Hexyz Force is currently scheduled to release in stores on May 25, 2010, and via PlayStation Network on May 27th; both versions have an MSRP of $29.99.

About Hexyz Force
Long ago, Norvia, the Goddess of Creation, descended from the heavens. Using the Holy Vessel, a divine chalice charged with all Force (the spiritual energy in the universe), she created life and the Divinities, shepherds of existence. For a while, all was good. After a time, Delgaia, the God of Destruction, brought about a great calamity known as the Gods' Remorse. He intended to return all Force to the Holy Vessel, returning Berge to the void. The Divinities sacrificed themselves to defeat Delgaia, delivering Berge from doom and sealing the God of Destruction away deep within the earth.
As Berge lay in ruin, a result of its bitter war, Norvia made a covenant. She would restore Berge to its former beauty on one condition. An Hour of Judgment would eventually come to pass, and in it, the world would have to decide its ultimate path: creation or destruction.
Key Features- Two-sided fantasy adventure--A rich fantasy tale told in two wholly separate yet intricately intertwined parts. Play as Cecilia, a young cleric, or as Levant, an elite knight, as they unravel the mysteries of their world's impending destruction. Each side of the story takes approximately 25-30 hours to complete, for a total of 50 hours of engaging RPG play.
- Smooth and Streamlined--Get caught in the fun of RPGs, not the hassles. An extraordinary level of polish provides players with quick, stress-free battles, flexible strategy, and virtually no load times with a special option that allows players to install the game from UMD onto a Memory Stick.
- Gorgeous presentation--Adventure comes alive with approximately 20 minutes of anime movie cutscenes beautifully depicting the struggle of Creation versus Destruction. Game events unfold inside a huge and colorful 3D world, amplified by detailed characters and a sweeping musical score.

Nice, very nice.
Here's a good gameplay video from what looks like the first few minutes (so no spoilers really).
Hope Atlus USA keep the "NO DETA" cause that is totally charming.

Bless you! I recently purchased a PSP-3000 (after my 2000 broke a year ago) and was wondering if I hadn't made a mistake, since there aren't many new releases in the west that were appealing (and I hadn't really missed much in the year I was PSP-less).

Assuming this will be available on the PSN (so, you know, I can play it), then I'm very excited. Sting does good work and the videos I've seen on youtube look promising.

damn you ATLUS, it looks like a real good game, but sadly I don't have a PSP, games like that sure make me wish I had one though. However I can't afford to buy all the goodies on both the DS, and PSP, not to mention any consoles.

Not in the least surprising since Atlus has published most if not all previous St!ng games regardless of console, but glad to have confirmation nonetheless.
Now it's just the wait for the inevitable announcement for Yggdra Unison for DS NA.

Hm, since when was the PSP even near death, the only time anyone doubted it would live long, is when it first came out, because Sony downright sucks as a gaming company(lol their "entire" marketing strategy for it, was look it can play movies, so frankly It's amazing it got off the ground to begin with), other then that, it was never near death.

This is one ATLUS game I am not interested in. I got the chance to play the Japanese ver. and it was extremely boring. Everything was way too drab. Maybe a good localisation will change my mind, but frankly I would rather play Persona 3 Portable instead.

I seriously have to check my email more often lol. I'm glad that Atlus is giving the psp so much support, it's one of my favorite consoles and I guess I have Atlus to thank for that. I don't mind which format it comes out on (umd or download) but I would prefer UMD to see if we get spoils and to save Memory Stick space for other Atlus titles like Metal Slug XX.

Dammit! I don't have enough money for the Atlus games that had already been announced. And now I have to give up one of those so I can get what's sure to be a marvelous Sting game.
...I'm sorry, 3D Dot Game Heroes...you might have to be a rental.
