I got to say, I listened to some of the Japanese voice acting for this game, and it's... not good. Everyone sounds so bored, in a way.

They are selling this game at YesAsia for $68.99 and here is the link: ( http://www.yesasia.com/global/person...0-en/info.html) and I think I might aswell wait until the US version comes out.

I just have a simple, non-spoilerrific piece of advice out there to future players of P3P:
If you're gonna play Maniacs mode, do it on the first playthrough. Doing it in NG+ is a moot point since everything you've built on the first game will not be there.
Besides, it seems that you can fight the Optional Boss on the first run anyway.
I learned that the hard way... While I do have a pre-cleared backup save on normal inside my hard drive, this will be my chance to prove to myself that I don't need PK to do a Single Max S. Link Run.

In the old versions of P3, it kinda defeated the purpose of a "harder" difficulty if you keep your EXP, items, and equipment, so I really didn't get why they didn't do like, say, Metal Gear and only carry your bonuses over to a NG+ of the same difficulty (other difficulties require you to start from scratch).
Good thing they fixed that little bit of non-logic.
The only reason I was able to play P3F on Hard with my first playthrough's S.Link items and Compendium, but not the level, items, or equipment, was because my first game was on P3 Vanilla and I ported in the data. It's a trick I can only perform once, so any further playthroughs to get the rest of the S.Links may as well be played on Easy.

But they could have at least kept Monad unlocked. I have an NG+ tradition of hitting Monad with low-level characters and having them jump up a few levels after killing one set of the Magus enemies.
I mean, NG+ is supposed to have something extra for people who already went through the game once, right?
Social Attributes not in? No problem. Compendium Data wiped? It's easy to recreate favorites because of the Skill Cards. No carryover equipment? Used to it, P4 punished us the same way on any difficulty level.
But somehow, it just doesn't feel like NG+ when everything isn't there after a prior clearing. It may be wiser to play retroactive difficulty: start on Maniacs, then NG+ on Hard.

I'm going to play maniacs when the localization arrives (because it is going to arrive, right?!), since it's OK to grind on a portable console.
What sucks about jRPGs is that higher difficulties doesn't really feel rewarding, though. It's great with a challenge, but most of them just makes every enemy stronger and give them more resistances, while you are a little bit weaker. Is this the case with Maniacs too, or can you actually beat the game with only moderate grinding and the rest being "pure" strategy?

Having listened to the soundtrack a bit more, I really like it. Especially Wiping All Out, it's almost on par with Mass Destruction. It doesn't have the cool funkyness MD has, but the lyrics are a lot better. The chorus sounds really determined, it's perfect for normal battles.

Yeah, the drums in Master of Tartarus always gives me a kick. Despite it's simplicity, it's one of the best battle themes ever.

Yeah it will be really cool if we could set our own music
Like having as battle theme Wiping All Out and boss theme Master of tartarus and things like that so please Atlus give us some more customization that could be one more reason for buying it

As I understand it, it's a boss challenge mode. One row features the full moon bosses, with the restriction being that party members who weren't present in that fight are unavailable for use. The second row is a series of Tartaros bosses, with premade party and Persona builds (to make things harder, I assume).
Win them all and fight Margaret.

Hey.
Thanks.

Since there is no Shin Megami Tensei on the title I would say that the cover is a fake. Unless Atlus sends an email that announces the game with a proper release date I wouldn't put too much faith in this.

It's almost no different than Hard on P3 FES. I used almost the same starting strategies on it (except for the multiple weapons factor), and save for the extra enemy damage, you can pace through the game with average grinding.
The only place you might get stuck on for a while are the first two Tartarus bosses on Thebel. For the eagles, Yukari is the only one who can knock them down and it's almost a guarantee that she'll miss 65% of the time even with a better bow. For the pink hands, you'd better grind Orpheus for a while and pray that that Bash hits a lot.
It doesn't help that knockdowns =/= turn loss anymore because of the P4 system in place. The clincher variable here is that you can use the faint status to your advantage on bosses sometimes instead of AOAing. That's the best way to make the later battles easier, provided that you have Maha- skills or all-target physicals.
Thankfully, no one gets tired now on a sustained one-day Tartarus exploration trips. It's just totally annoying when Mitsuru/Fuuka keeps asking "Aren't you tired? Don't push yourself too hard." and during long walks, random party members would say "I'm a little tired" but their condition is still at "Good" or "Great". >.<
The other impediments I heard of in Maniacs mode are merely the disabling of certain special weapon fusion combos, and the occasional Enemy Advantage on enemies that aren't surprised (same as in Hard).
Right now I'm almost at January, and like I mentioned before, I was able to recreate my favorites real quick with the help of the Skill Cards. The only real challenge I'm looking forward to now is the Vision Quest.

I heard that one of the new Tartarus songs that Fuuka can play for you is "Sebec" from Persona 1. I love that song!
And yes, Wiping All Out is awesome!

I think they sound fine, although I do still prefer the English voice-acting. And at least Fuuka and Ikutsuki sound much better in Japanese. Ikutsuki doesn't sound like he's just reading off the script in Japanese.
I didn't think Shinjiro's English was all that great though because he still sounded calm even when his "angry" sprite showed up. I have yet to hear Shinjiro's "angry" voice in Japanese. Either that or I forgot I heard it.

"New" isn't the word I'd use. All of the Tartarus BGM tracks are the same as in FES.
I prefer Maya's Theme when grinding. The piano tunes take the edge off, though the original techno version from EP would have been nicer.

As for Shinji, The only time I heard him with a high tension voice in Japanese was during commencement of an All-Out Attack. (the beatdown process, not the asking, mind you)
Shinji's stuck on yanki monotone for the most part.

Yep. I don't know if the localization will follow through, but the BGM titles are indicated this time in P3P. None of that "Track 1, Track 2..." garbage.
