Atlus USA has long been a pretty laissez-faire place. When things get out of hand, we prefer to lock threads rather than delete posts or ban people. But it's becoming increasingly clear that this approach just isn't working, and it's going to change as of now.

The #1 cardinal rule of this forum is don't be hostile. Don't be rude, don't be a troll, don't take arguments into the realm of personal insults. Some of you do it because you mean it, and some of you do it for personal amusement, but it all has to stop. Atlus USA's official forums are not a personal playground. They're part of our corporate web presence--they're linked from every official game site we do now. And if people are creating an unwelcome environment for posters, whether new or old, the time has come to start removing those people rather than allow the harassment and bile-spewing to continue.

As complaints to the mods increase, and as the forum's reputation worsens in other corners of the Internet (which I've seen for myself), as moderators and admins, we can't allow that to be part of Atlus' public image. If you find this policy to be unwelcome, censorious, or a sellout, we encourage you to leave amicably before you are forcibly ejected. There are other fora, after all. The Internet's a big place, and there's bound to be somewhere that you can be your noob-baiting, thread-derailing, poisonous self.

But not here.

(Disclaimer: If none of the above applies to you, then go on your merry way and be most excellent to each other.)
