KNIGHTS IN THE NIGHTMARE™ FOR PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) SYSTEM GETS NEW RELEASE DATE AND FREE GAME; YGGDRA UNION™ TO BE INCLUDED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST

Pre-order to secure two awesome RPGs for the price of one!

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- SEPTEMBER 08, 2010 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today gave fans double the reason to be excited about Knights in the Nightmare™ for PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) system, because each and every launch copy, including PlayStation® Network purchases for a limited time while supplies last, will include a digital copy of Yggdra Union™ at no additional cost. The upcoming tour de force of bullet-hell action and strategy roleplaying game is now slated to release slightly later, on November 9, 2010.

"One of the features exclusive to the upcoming PSP system release of Knights in the Nightmare is the ability to play as Princess Yggdra. How appropriate then that everyone who picks the game up at launch will receive a free copy of Yggdra Union. It's the perfect bonus at no extra cost," said Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales. "Fans won't want to miss out on this tremendous value, essentially getting two captivating, innovative RPG experiences for the price of one."

Yggdra Union was originally released for Game Boy Advance to warm praise, and then beautifully remade for PSP system in 2008, loaded with enhancements. GamePro called it "...a rare gem that manages to stay interesting after hours and hours of playtime," scoring it 5/5 on their review. In addition to adding more replay value with Princess Yggdra as a third character, this new release of Knights in the Nightmare is enhanced to take full advantage of the power of PSP system, featuring remastered visuals and sounds, optimized controls, and a new opening movie from visionary director Yukio Takatsu (Persona 3, Persona 4, Yggdra Union).

Knights in the Nightmare is now scheduled for release in stores and via PlayStation Network on November 9, 2010 with an MSRP of $29.99. Each launch copy (including PSN purchases for a limited time while supplies last) will include a free digital copy of Yggdra Union. To guarantee your free copy of Yggdra Union, pre-order Knights in the Nightmare today! For more information, visit the official website www.atlus.com/knightspsp.

About Knights in the Nightmare (PSP)

Somewhere between heaven and the underworld-in the center of a quiet lake-stood an ancient castle known as Aventheim. Without warning, denizens of the netherworld emerged and slaughtered the kingdom; nary a soul was left alive.

Within an abandoned, long-forgotten church deep in the woods, the Wisp is set free. Bereft of memory, it is drawn toward the monster-infested castle and re-awakens the souls of the vanquished knights, leading them back towards the fallen stronghold to confront the very forces of evil that took their lives.

Key Features
• An experience unlike any before it--Incorporating strategy RPG, real-time strategy, and shooter elements, you've never experienced a game like this. Control the Wisp and activate the souls of deceased knights to aid you in destroying foes on the map. Enemies fire bullets in multiple directions, making it vital for players to master the precise controls.

• Over 100 characters to recruit--Find and recruit the ghosts of seven different classes of knights from your kingdom, and learn of their pasts, hopes, dreams, and untimely deaths. Sacrifice their souls to one another to balance their skills and create your ultimate party.

• A tale thrice told--Exclusive to the PSP system version, the addition of Princess Yggdra as a third playable character means that gamers can experience the game's dark and brooding tale through three unique perspectives, making for more replay value than ever before.

About Yggdra Union (PSP)

Sweet I'll definitely buy the PSN version unless there is swag involved on the UMD version but hey Free Yggdra Union is good enough Swag for me. Question though if I buy the UMD version is Yggdra Union with KiTN PSP or do I have to seek a copy on the floor and bring it to the GS employee so it'll show up as free? Let me see like a limited time double pack offer. Also I noticed my other thread got closed. I beat the system woot.

Like the press release says, the copy of Yggdra is digital. You'll get a voucher for it in the box. If you buy the digital version of Knights, you'll either get the code in your email or, it'll automatically d/l it or something or other. I'll have to confirm that.

Wow @ this deal. You guys want my money or something. I was not going to buy this game because I have the DS version, but if you're also giving Yggdra Union PSP for free it's pretty hard for me to pass up.

Woo Hoo! Atlus your amazing! I already have a copy of Yggdra Union for both PSP and GBA but I still think this is awsome of you! Now I'll have a backup copy of one of my all time favorite games!

I am also surprised your doing this as opposed the typical Artbook and/or Soundtrack. Not that I am complaining or anything Because I AM NOT!

Nice, it's too bad that I already have the UMD version of Yggdra Union though. Ah well, it's always good to have a spare.

Whoa, I'm honestly shocked you guys are gonna give out a free game O_O

I was considering picking up the DS version, but the PSP version is awfully tempting now xD

Anyone know how big Yggdra Union is? I have a 2 GB memory card floating around that I'd like to use.

Wow Atlus staff, you guys are the bomb! I was always considering picking up Yggdra union but the only copy I could find was $39.99, but now you guys are just handing it out for FREE?! I am definitely picking up KiTN on PSP now(and for $29.99, the value is just too good O_O) In fact I think I will pre-order it when I pick up my EOIII later this month :)

I assume though the offer is good in Canada as well? I don't see Gamestop Canada listed on the email, but I do see HMV, and amazon.ca so I'm just gonna assume its in Canada too.

Is the Yggdra Union a diffrent version then what's already available on the PSP or is it the same? Kinda torn about getting excited and getting knights day one or waiting untill I can afford it AND ramen noodles for lunch.

It's the same Yggdra. And uhh... I guess I'd suggest holding off until you can afford to eat. This may sound counter-intuitive to the company strategy and all, but I figure if you survive longer, that means more potential sales.

Bleh, was hoping it'd be a special edition or some such. Well, Day one crossed off and Month one wrote in.

If Atlus really wanted the game to fly off the shelves, instead of packaging the game with YU they would package the game with a full size poster of Yggdra in a skimpy string bikini.

Haha just kidding. I love Atlus because they don't do stuff like that.

OK, so I'm a new psp go owner, and I'm wondering where KitN is on PSN. Today is the 9th of November and I want to download it and get my free game but can't find it to download it. What's the deal?

Also, I thought you might like to know that I dropped the scratch to get a psp go primarily so that I could play the first persona game.

Thanks for the update. At least I'm not missing something. I didn't know it took a psn-wide update to do such things. Hell, I didn't even know there was such a thing.

Guess I'll check back now and then.

Thanks again.

Do we know when this offer expires yet?

Just wondering whether I should shop around for a UMD version, maybe ask for it for xmas even, or whether I should get the PSN version just to make sure I get the free Yggdra Union.

The offer seems to have expired last week. In another thread, someone said they bought it today and did not get Yggdra Union with it.

So PSN isn't an option it would appear.

I guess it's just a matter of whether the code included in the case of the UMD version is no longer valid to redeem, then.

pointzeroeight
11-30-2010, 11:58 AM
I don't think that's the issue here. The codes in the UMD cases should be valid so long as they are available. It's more like only the first run of UMD copies came with the codes.

The other question is was the code given inside the box, or was it an additional card given with the game at preorder? I know usually pre order bonuses are seperate cards given at the time you preorder

Mine came with a single page insert within the box itself, slipped in with the instruction manual. The same manor as the Phantasy Star Portable 2 online code.

Oh. Well, hopefully you guys can still get your free games =/ Ps, Atlus, can you add a note to let others like me know that this promotion is no longer valid?

I orderd the UMD version of the game just a few days ago for someone else. Guess I'll find out if the code works when christmas rolls around if it has the code in the box as you say. I suspect atlus hasn't done a 2nd print run so it probably has the code...

Got a copy today and the code still works!

Also, art on both sides of the KITN box cover is nice.
