If the PS3 has backwards compatibility, then it should work. However, I have heard of instances of the game corrupting the virtual memory card, or whatever it uses. Persona 3 was not tested on the PS3 and we can't guarantee a flawless performance.

Well, it works just fine on my 60 gig, but I have experienced the issue where the save game DELETES instead of SAVES when you're attempting to save the game. It's happened to me at least twice. Remedy? Save in two slots, or just pay attention to make sure it says "save successful" rather than "save failed" after you've attempted a save.

Yeah, the 60 gig version of the Ps3 is the way to go if you like some of your older Ps2/Ps1 games. I have never had any issues at all, but I know a lot of people have.

Sorry to raise this from the dead.. (i cannot make a new topic)
But is anyone else playing fes on the 80gb ps3 experiencing their ps3 drives making a lot of noises when playing? I just bought fes and started playing on my ps3, but I feel its odd that the ps3 laser or whatever.. makes so much noise while reading the disc.
Does this happen to anyone else?

This is only happening on the FES game disc?

ok, just tested this on my ps2, it's just like the problem on the ps3..
could it be a bad disc? There aren't scratches on the disc though, and its not a resurfaced disc.

Mine makes noises when playing PS2 discs in general (I have an 80GB) however it doesent make a really loud noise. I think it has something to do with the fans (and boy does it have a lot of fans) Just make sure that the vents aren't covered up or cloged up, the PS3 will either activate or speed up some of the fans to prevent it from overheating. This works prety well.
If it makes a screechy sound then yeah it has to do with the laser, probably a defect the disk has that puts more stress on the lenz or something of the sort (however this is usualy acompanied with slowdowns)
