I Hate People Who Do This

Trying to clear 1-1 in an NG+ game. Keep getting invaded by the same guy, (must have been 6 times now). He can't beat me, he tried everything from fire spells to death cloud and still lost. Only way he can win is to run where the enemies are and have them help him. I HATE people who invade and have to use the games enemies to fight for them. If they can't win or fight 1 on 1, then they need to stop invading. Finally decided to unplug internet until I make it to boss then I turn it on again. Invading and fighting the host and 1 or 2 blues I can class as fair. You invade a host who has helpers, that's ok. But don't use the game to do what you want done.

Do you really hate the people who do that, or just the fact that they do that? Hating is a very strong emotion. I would gather you hate the action more than the person. Look at it from that peron's perspective. While to you it appears that this person is cheating, they are actually using any means at their disposal to ensure a victory. Sure they should give up after 2 or 3 attempts, but really if the game mechanics are there I say use them. I agree with you that it really isn't a fair fight, but hey, that is what you are willing to suffer when playing online and like you said, you can always disconnect.

Alright maybe not the people but as you said, the action. I don't mind a couple of zombies but this guy was running for ol' red eyes. I know I would die there and to me that would be either cheating or just plain chicken. Why invade if you lose each time, switching magic or miracles didn't help. Weapon changes didn't help so in my opinion, I would stop if that was me. But running for red eyes is not my way of playing fair. To me, if you invade someone, you wanna see how good you are or the person you invading are. Not how many enemies you can hang with for a party on the host....lol

I agree and disagree. See, invaders have several disadvantages: they hav less HP, are of a lower level than you, you might have blue phantom(s) with you; so using the terrain to help you win is perfectly fine for an invader... and here's the caveat: for an invader who just wants to get his body back.

For an invader who wants to do pure PvP, though, that's just cowardly and shows that he cannot win a one-on-one fight. I've had an invader in 4-1 do that once. He invaded me a few times. He won at least once, so I know he wasn't invading to get his body back, he obviously suicided and invaded again because he just wanted PvP, right...? Except that at some point he was losing badly so he went to hide behind the enemies (I hadn't had time to clear the enemies before being invaded at that time). Pissed me off quite a bit.

i don't mind it so much when invaders do it, it is part of the game so if they chose to hide and attempt to ambush, then so be it. i do however, hate it when i summon a player via a red stone and they run to hide behind monsters. roughly 4 days ago i had summoned and killed the same player three times via red stone. each time he changed weapons/stratagies. two days ago, i summoned him again and this time as soon as he saw it was me, he bolted into the level, glitched himself up on the cliff to get past the first fog(map 4-1) and made me chase him around essentially the entire portion of the map after the first fog. he couldn't go past the second fog as there is no known glitch to avoid it, and he didn't hop down to the boss fog, because i assume he doesn't know that trick. it took me about half an hour of chasing him and fighting off both him and 1-2 monsters at a time, but i eventually killed him. the saddest part, the guy was using mirdan hammer and a large axe.....both weapons are made to be easy wins for the user but this guy just kept running away....

I guess I'm one of the different ones. I invaded a guy in 4-1 because of the level I was at. No one was summoning me as a blue so I invaded to see if maybe there was anyone around. Must have invaded at the same time the guy entered the area. He had the first skel still by the opening. He was dodging the skel so I killed it. We duelled, I had to leave. Neither of us could win or lose. We were evenly matched so I left because after 5 minutes of hardly giving or taking damage, I let the guy play his game. Messaged him and told him I killed skel because I didn't want him getting interupted trying to fight me. If I invade I would rather play 1on1. If there's a blue or 2 then yeah, I don't mind the enemies still being around but I don't run to seek help. The risk you take when invading. But like I said, this guy came in 6 times at least, so he was just trying to get me killed using the enemies because he was upset he kept losing. That's my opinion anyways.
Also to comment, thx again morrigan for the help and for duelling me near the arch instead of half way thru the level you little invader :D

Happened to me once. Never used it again. Just wanted to see it and forgot to remove it. Got summoned and guy knocked me down while other firestormed me and killed me with 1 shot each. I wasn't even fully in the level yet and he got me.

you can't control who you invade and i think that never giving up when faced with a challenge is one of the most important parts of being and becoming a good player on DS.

Bothered me at first, then I realized it's just a game, and learned to enjoy it. I figure by playing online this may happen, just learn to roll with it or play offline.

guy was using the field to his advantage. Sometimes I just go invading to annoy players, not to kill them. Id bring acid/poison/death cloud and my gimpy character and stalk them to death. If you dont want other players to come into your game, then do what you did and play offline.

I was ready to tell him to give it up he's a loss cause....lol
But unplugging my net worked better. Have a hard enough time playing NG+ let alone some guy constantly invading and trying to beat me.
And to comment on what PocMouse posted, I had no blues so it was a fair 1 on 1. He just had a bad build. I've been there. Asked for help from people and learned. Just ticking me off he kept running for that spot. And I know I can't compete against red eyes because it already got me once....lol
