Just checking. Doesn't look like there has been much activity lately. Another sign that Demon's Souls is a short lived product. What happened to all the buzz and excitement? I dislike making the above observation. I have had a lot of fun playing the game.

the forums have died down quite a bit from what i've seen, but the game itself is still going strong.

It doesn't get as many posts as it used to but it is hardly "dead". There are new topics every so often and there are plenty of posts every day. The game is 6 months old, it isn't an mmo, things will slow down forum wise. Thats just how it is.

When you start with a game that has a small fan-base, you can't expect its forums to stay very active for too long. Eventually, every nook and cranny of the game will have been discussed and its players will have gotten back to playing it, or will have moved on to another game. It's the way things go.

I think it is. For one, even if you count all the Demon's Souls players, it's still not a whole lot compared to some other games. And two, I wasn't necessarily referring to the entire player-base, but just the 'fan-base' (i.e. the people who care enough about the game to talk about it on forums). Perhaps I used the phrase 'fan-base' incorrectly, but my point has now been clarified nonetheless.

Its only natural for a game's forum to lose traffic after a certain point, especially if its not 100% mp oriented.

Older players - who have learned what they needed and have contributed to the community at some point - have mostly moved on to other titles or reduced their DS time considerably.

The game though shouldn't be considered dead, it simply grows on you and is VERY hard to leave behind. I took a big break but now I want to go and give it another run, the pure awesomeness just keeps pulling me back...

I'm dusting it off again soon. I just introduced a friend of mine to it and he's the proud owner of a new PS3. Told him the game was epic hard and I think I just hooked him with that.

Hopefully we can find each other online sometime and do some slaying.

an hour busy here and there is kinda boring, specially when playign story mode gets boring after 10 NGs......

I still pop it in from time to time, only to find that areas that used to be busy are very dead :(

True, especially for an european player, it can be a looong time waiting for invasions or your red eye stone summoned. Why dont you play more early in the morning, girls and guys from overseas? :frown:

My gamin acticity is down to zero since those freezing crap emerged with the newest games. DS was the only game i could play and i did so for a week but had to finally send in my PS.

I don't think it's dead here. But threads get repetitive. And i guess many poeple, including me, don't feel like posting the same stuff over and over again.

For someone who hasn't played Final Fantasy XIII, your judgement is next to void. I, personally, didn't enjoy the game (my personal score is around 6 / 10), however, opinions are polarized just as with Final Fantasy XII.

I'll paraphrase my experience of FFXIII; battle system was great, story was melodramatic and cliche, and the fluidity just wasn't there. I like the developers behind Vagrant Story, Tactics, IX, XII, and soon they will be releasing Fortress.

that mostly seemed to affect older models. THe gameplay in FFXIII is great and post game missions are awesome. Some even take hours to figure out. DS hard? not compared to post game FFXIII lol

None of the FF games can be considered hard. Its all about grinding and getting the settings right. I only play those games because of stuff like Smaragd Weapon, Ozma and the likes.

I actually liked the game, sort of. I only made it to chapter 5 but i always wondered when the game would finally start. "Post Game" is what i got for an answer, lol.

Nah, the game finally opens up in chapter eleven. Most people just come back to it after the game, when they're more powerful.

I actually like FFXIII quite a bit. I'm currently finishing up all the side missions I left unfinished earlier before I beat the game. I don't like XIII as much as I do VIII (my personal favorite of the series), but it's a good game. I don't really see why it's getting so much hate; it's not much different from pretty much every other JRPG out there.

I have definitely taken a break from the game and recently completed the story line in the following games: Battlefield Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, F.E.A.R 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Just Cause 2

It's hard not to like AC2 and BF: BC2. Fear 2 sucks, IMO. I'm also torn over Just Cause 2. I like the game and think the map is great. However, the playground is almost too large and I do get bored of the same activities over and over regardless of title. Maybe my age is really starting to show because I'm finding games with an actual well-written story more appealing.

Well, if we're sharing "life after Demon's Souls" stories...

The next game I bought after roughly 3 months of nothing but DS was Fallout 3. I don't know if it was the fact that I accidentially ended up with a German dub, because any game has to seem crappy after DS or because there's really something wrong with Fallout 3, but it couldn't hold my interest for more than 4 hours.

Then I went out and bought a 360 for the sole purpose of playing Mass Effect 1 and 2, and that did it. And now of course I got God of War III. I still have some unfinished business with Demon's Souls, and given that it's at least one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, I'm sure I'll return to it later this year, but I really need a break from it.

FF13 and Just Cause 2 are out so many people are playing the 2010 games now. Ive been playing JC2, its a blast.
DS needs DLC or something. After 8 NGs it can get monotonous. Fix that 6th stone. Id go back in a second.

Ello, since I can't post a new tread for sum reason, thought Ill ask here, im trying to get pbwt bp selen in ng+3, can't be bothered anymore 1v1, decidec to soulsuck her, now the problem Im avin is that instead of standin in an island where the fog is, she patrols around and I can't sneak up behind her, there's 3 nasty giants where shes supposed to be, any bright ideas? thanks in advance.

I've heard of the blue ray laser issue with older models (have a 60 gig myself), but nothing specific relating to DS crashes.
