I just lost 160,000 souls in the lava area. What armour is best suited for there? I'm assuming the dragon long sword is the one in the middle of the lava pit and when I went there, I died within 3 seconds. The strongest armour I have for fire resistance is the gloom armour but that don't work. I had PFS and ring of fire resist on and STILL melted. How the heck are you supposed to get that stuff?

I go with dragon bone smasher out, flame shield out/ holding, flame ring , you can compare suits with square bottom at stockpile thomas pick suit then press square to compare against other suit . If you like.

Hold your PFS up.

The dragon long sword is not in the pool of lava. Head left and hug the wall, there is a hole you can enter, travel along that passage and you will come to the longsword.

Just read there are chunks and pure dragon stone in there. I'm assuming that's what is in the lava pond. Don't care about the pure since I have 1 and only need that one but the chunks would be nice since the bear bugs don't always drop them for me I need 9 in total and only have 3.

Ancient Kings armor set is good fire resistance. If you have water veil you could use that as well. If you don't have that set, wait until you get then go back if you can hold out.

I got those on a different profile. Gonna try it out. For some reason the dex build I made isn't working well for me. Can't get to the king, that red eyes is nasty....lol
Not a sword lover and halberd just not the same. Might have done something wrong. Gonna try again. Got help from of couple of great people I just may have mis-read something.

Whether or not you use the armor, if you cast water veil or have second chance and some healing items and manage them well, you can do it.

Also try to roll in the lava from one island to the other. Then roll, quickly grab the item, roll back. You'll take less damage per second.

I use Water Veil, Flame Ring, and PFS. If the item is near, I just roll (fast roll) my way to it and back to cool ground. If the item is far, I hold the PFS up until I get near it. You have to shield up BEFORE you get into the lava, because if you do it after, your HP will still drain. Between the two, I get lesser HP deducted when I roll.... And yeah, do kill the enemies in that area before you lava walk. Also, more than any armor, you need high HP in that area. I usually do not venture there until I have like 25 Vitality. :)

In short:

Avoiding the lava ASAP >>> taking the damage

I did it with binded + dss and ring of flame resistance.

Yup definately not the best gear to use but its pretty easy if you have 50+ hp and a moon weapon to quickly take down bearbugs or SS or w/e.

I just kept my shield up and got to each island quickly, wasn't that much to it. When i dropped my shield to pick something up I'd just roll quickly back to 1. SC wud help as well I guess. Dunno if water veil or sc wud be better tho.

Hah, didn't even know about that place until I read this thread..

Guess it's already been answered what's best to use, I just used my PFS and held it up while walking, lost very little health this way. Meh, just trying to up my posts to 5 so that I can start making threads, don't mind me.

With 30 vitality, Fluted Armor, and Flame Resistance Ring, I was able to get from island to island in time to scarf down some grass. Just roll on to islands to make sure the lava tubes don't block your way.

Edit: Nevermind this, it seems to be working now, again sorry for hijacking your thread with a question not related to the subject.

Im sorry for hijacking the thread but I have a question..

Apparently, I need to have 5 posts before I can start making my own threads, but I have 6 posts now and I still can't make my own threads, has it changed to a different value or is there something else im missing? I'd really like to make a trade thread and let people know about stuff I need, and stuff im willing to give up to get those items, as there are a few trophys I would like to obtain, but don't feel like farming the same place 5000000 times to get a few stones, please let me know what I need to do to start posting my own threads, or show me to the right direction where trades take place around here.

Does it matter if you need any fire resistence?

iceclimber

It sure does when you are trying to walk on ....."Lava".....

Do you have to walk on the lava though?

I'm sorry I'm new to the game so I don't know all the stuff, and what is the boss in 2-2?

iceclimber

2-2 is flamelurker. Arguably, one of the harder bosses of Demons souls depending upon how you fight.
