Faith based build....what bow?

Ok I like to use a bow in PvE. I have a faith build and I used the Lava bow on my first play through with this build and it was fine.

In NG+ it sucks. I have 6 magic and I think the lava bow scales with magic.

My Str and Dex are low as well. 22 Str and 16 Dex.

What bow should I use? Looking at the Wiki for the White bow I'm not seeing that it increases in damage much and I'd have to increase my stats for it which I don't want to do.

Should I just go with a +10 compound long bow? Or a Quality +5 compound long bow?

Ok I guess I'll list my choice of bows to use for every build.

faith, str: Compound Long Bow (CLB) +10
dex: sticky CLB +5
meat cleaver: white+5 or sticky CLB+5
NR: compound short bow (CSB) +10
BBS: quality CSB+5 (12str) quality CLB+5 or lava (18str)

Rk is right. If you don't have stats that make use of any of the good bows (you don't) then you just go with the bow that has the highest base damage. That is the Compound Longbow +10. Which by the way will out damage the white bow at the white bows minimum stats. The White Bow is actually a horrid bow, there is always a better choice.

I thought the Lava Bow still did decent damage on my NG+ with my faith character. It still outdamages the CLB+9 as far as I know (well, on the equip screen , I didn't test it) but maybe a CLB+10 is actually better.

I made a CLB +8 last night and tested it on the tutorial boss in 4-1. It was doing about 30 points more damage than the Lava Bow.

The lava bow might still have it place at it stuns for a half second, but the damage output without any magic stats is pretty low.

The Lava Bow is great if used with Fire Arrows. Especially with 22/16 id go for it (why else would you need 16 dex anyways). Have that CLB 10 ready to glitch Maneater ;)

Oh really? I'll have to try this out. I didn't even think of this.

On second thought...you are talking about using turpentine on a weapon and then switching to the bow right? Sort seems like a pain for regular play. But I'll still give it try to see how it does.

Um so yeah fire arrows pretty much suck. It is cool that they do the stagger thing like the lava bow but without the lava bow. So I'll keep a few around for that but the damage is piss poor. And the lava bow + Fire arrows isn't as good as the +8 CLB with hard arrows. As a matter of fact the fire arrows are = less damage than hard arrows. Maybe some MOBs take more damage from fire than others but I'm not a big fan of switching things around and figuring that crap out.

So yeah the best bow for this build is indeed a +10 CLB. I just need to go farm the gecko nest to get the last 2 levels.
