A black phantom always spawns in at the same spot. With timing and practice you can get in a free backstab, soul suck, etc. on a spawning bp. You can also layer cloud debuffs on the spawn zone. With a powerful enough weapon/spell, you could kill them on spawn.
This is pretty cowardly, really, unless you actually meant to return to the Nexus and find your pathway blocked (in other words you didn't actually seek a BP invasion).

you can only do this with noob phantoms lol, seriously, no one will fall for this tricks of spawn-SS or BS or whatever, firstly because when you spawn, you have a little "invulnerable"(you cant get BSed etc) time to look around to see if it is safe to buff etc

good luck trying anything on spawning black phantoms who knows what they are doing, you will get nothing..

lol, your analysis skills are weak than, when i spawn i can do a short analysis and see if i can buff, or must run/roll.

you will never BS a spawning BP... seriously. you can only take a BS after the equivalent time of a Second Chance Cast, thats plenty time to know if there is someone behind you..

All's fair in war. You don't think ambushing is cowardly? There are plenty of "cowardly" tactics that black phantoms can employ on the host and blues... but often times we simply call them good "tactics" (in part, because they are). If you have an unwanted guest, you are free to do what you like to get rid of them.

And again, reading fail - there is a reason why it's under the title of FARM. If it's not for you, then don't do it and move on with your game - there's no reason to troll and name call.

you are probably one of the "players" that summon 2 blues, and a red sign, just to """""""FARM"""""""

In reply to morrigan:

Ambushing, yes. That's my whole point. Of course if by ambushing you didn't mean "camping at the archstone and ambushing the black phantom invader", but instead you just meant "invading", then no, invading isn't cowardly. Invaders have a fraction of the host's health and only one ring slot (assuming the invader uses the Cling ring), and might be facing 2v1 or 3v1. If anything, invading can be a pretty brave thing to do.

If you have an unwanted guest, you are free to do what you like to get rid of them.
True. Which is why I said, if you were around the archstone because you were on your way back to the Nexus, well hey, too bad for the poor BP who invades right at that time (it happened to me a few times). But if you purposefully camp around the archstone trying to use dirty tactics on the next invader, you are a cowardly asshole, plain and simple. You aren't "getting rid of an unwanted guest" because you're actually camping around waiting for them so your argument just goes down in flames.

You get that impression too huh? Haha.

I may be a cowardly asshole, but at least I'm not the sap with a Fatal Estoc +5 in my back.

The red stone is also known as a "good place to set up an ambush." ;-)

Now, I have no doubt of what i said.

also..

if you dont know how to counter BS, do PvP with friends(and make a rule to No-BS), or don't pvp at all, dont do this noob stuff he is saying. thats just lame.

Hes just having fun playing the game that he payed for, there is no rules or regulations telling you how to play. I've been summoned a lot agenst people who grief or are cheap it can get pretty dirty but It's still amusing. Everyone has their idea of fun in a game and those he said can cause some laughs.

-The Bait and Switch-

In one instance, myself as blue and another blue set up on either side of an archway, out of sight. The host stood out in the open and fired arrows at the oncoming BP.

It was too tempting. the BP ran in and was immediately destroyed.

It's a step up from a basic ambush (where all three would be hidden), as it presents what appears to be a tactical advantage for the bp - divide and conquer. a blue could also be more convincing bait, especially in an early part of the level, as too many players are fond of summoning and running.

-Old MacDonald's Farm-

In the x-2+ stages (except 3-2), a fog gate preventing backtracking will appear as soon as you enter multiplayer mode - if you havent summoned anyone, that means you are being invaded. This will appear far in advance of an invasion notice.

A black phantom always spawns in at the same spot. With timing and practice you can get in a free backstab, soul suck, etc. on a spawning bp. You can also layer cloud debuffs on the spawn zone. With a powerful enough weapon/spell, you could kill them on spawn.

I actually fell for this kind of trap before lol. It was at the end of 1-4 where you encounter Ostrava and the dragon was still there. I saw the host wielding a bow and assumed he was a melee build trying to kill the dragon. I sprinted past the dragon's flames and then as soon as I got near the host, two phantoms jumped out and took me down lol. I sent the host a pm complimenting the trap, it was quite clever.

As for jumping spawning phantoms however, I wouldn't recommend do this. It's one thing to lay traps, but to jump a spawning phantom (whether you're camping or trying to get back to the nexus) is just plain cheap. It's quite rewarding killing 2 phantoms and the camping host in 4-1 though ^_^. From their play style it's obvious that most that do this are inept during 1on1 pvp. They're doing themselves a disservice by camping and tag-teaming. You learn nothing from it and you're definitely not going to become a better player this way

Yea this is more than likely accurate(however we can not be totally sure). Also Hawuvajo your absolutely correct about the BP having a significant amount of time to look around and decide weather they need to run off. Otherwise I would never have been able to beat any 3v1 ambusher bums.

PS. Also I dont think there is anything cheap about jumping or screwing over a Invader. If they invade they are asking for it. What if im trying to leave my game and go to sleep, or what if im trying to duel a friend and all of these people are stopping you from doing what your set out to do. Jumping a red soul sign is pretty pathetic though its a shame FROM didnt do something to stop all of these stupid a-hole kids who like to ruin other peoples fun, but oh well most of them suck and its tons of fun killing them 3v1 I always send nasty messages to them

Gotta add this because this it's a hoot.
Decided just for fun to go into maneater area, and see if I get summoned as the monk's slave. I get this one guy, and as soon as he sees me, he starts running around the place, then pulls the plug as I finally get him and start whacking away. I messaged him and asked why he left, he made some excuse saying his screen was all fuzzy and he thought I had left.
So, back up to the slave pit again. Another guy comes up, sees me, and tries to firestorm me through the fog, doesn't reach me, so I poison cloud him while he in hallway. See him backing off to go heal. STILL waiting for the guy to enter, he tries again with the firestorm. So yea, I had to poison his ass just for kicks. Finally he comes in, runs around trying to get away, no weapon in hand so I'm thinking, firestorm here we go. NO chance to use it. But it was hilarious watching these 2 guys. If they can make it to level 72 or around there, and the one guy has firestorm, then he should be in and out in no time.
I say THAT, was a kodak moment or america's funniest home video moment.....LOL

When invading , never cared what weapons they had, or if I was ambushed or not. When invaded, anyone is welcome to bring any weapon to my world , just a game and I can't care.
