The online world tendency should INFLUENCE to black.

You know how every time you log in and it influences your tendency towards white? It would be nice/interesting if it shifted it to black.

Online tendency shouldn't exist at all. It's a failed implementation in my opinion. Every time you log in for co-op play (which is why you log in) your world tendency is shifted. Sometimes this is good for you. Other times it ruins what you were attempting. For example, you play through Stonefang and get to the end with your friends. You return to the Nexxus for the world update. And out of the blue, you get kicked off the PSN. You log back in and find out your Pure White World Tendency is gone (you're in the Nexxus). It's gone until you can do it again.

World Tendency should only reflect Local variables and not Online variables. It was and is a bad idea.

NOTE: Stating one should play offline is not a valid arguement when you factor in co-op play. Don't state the obvious.

I agree at 300%,when u got 7 in luck, and need to farm stone for turn world in pure black, that take time, and the worst quit ur game go back one day later and have to restart all...
i wish personally no influence like that,if people need withe,ok its kool for them, but for the people who try to keep them world in pure black, its an lil more difficult,i mean quit game have to not influence the tendance, its been better for all ^^!

There's a way you can have control over your online tendency.

Start Demon's Souls. Load or create another character profile and log online with it.

Go to the Quit game menu and choose Load another profile. Load the character you don't want the tendency shifted online.

Sha-zam!

Your character will now be online with it's offline tendency.

I think you are missing the point. Why should anyone have to use a trick to maintain World Tendency? I'm not saying you are wrong. I'm saying it should not have made it into the game period. I'm not the only one who subscribes to this view; others do too.

Personally I don't mind the online tendency

But what I would like is variety...
Why is it always shifting to white and never to black?

It's rare that anyone ever has black world tendency unless they're farming geckos or trying to get an item... (and when you kill the NPC Black Phantoms it goes back towards white anyway)

I would just like the challenge of worlds being more difficult and being influence to black (not permanently, but it should alternate (2 weeks black/2 weeks white).

PS: I know that one can just drop down a cliff to get pure black tendency....but that's boring and it's like forcing it. Would be interesting that the game shifts the tendency towards black every time you log in.

I like your idea of automatic rotational wt shifts. Reminds of me of ffxi as the game itself had it's own internal in-game time system and the world environments would shift from one element to the next over time.

It shifts towards white because people kill bosses more often than they die, I guess. I mean, my understanding of the online WT, is that it takes everybody's WT-influencing actions, averages them out, and that's the online WT.

That's how it works, isn't it?

But who will die SO MUCH that it will start influencing towards black?*

So much so that I've never seen/heard anyone talk 'bout how their world tendency is being influenced towards black because they die so much...

Would having pure black character tendency start influencing ONLINE world tendency towards black?

This method isn't fool proof!

It has failed me many times. Actually it used to work fine until this weekend. I wasted 14 eyes because it decided to stop working.

It wasn't me, I've done what you mentioned many times. But it has stopped working.

--------

I also HATE the online tendency shifting. It drives me crazy. It's not how the game was intended to work....ATLAS has jacked it up.

I agree for online tendency to shift black. IMO it's too easy to get PWWT, while PBWT is such a hassle to achieve. I'd pick PB over PW any day since it's more rewarding and it's WAY more challenging. I'd recommend beating each world in PB once you beat NG+...you'll be surprised. :D

this online tendency was made for new players, if they mess it to black, they can go back to neutral without killing bosses etc..
