I wish we could co-op in spirit form just to fight levels and take out bosses as many times as we wanted. As it stands someone has to be in body form AND close to your level which makes the boss co-opping opportunities very few and far in between.

I get what you are saying. But, the summoning systems works just fine. You got to realize the person summoning a blue has full health (on purpose). As a phantom, you have half your health. I'm guessing the notion was the summoner needs the extra life so that everyone makes it to the finish line (the boss battle).

if i had to change one thing about the multiplayer system, i would allow the use of blue and black stones while in body form. i'd make them work like the red stone in that, you can use it in body form, but once you enter another player's game, you're in phantom form. that way you can co-op or pvp, regardless of body or soul forms. it wouldn't change the nature of multiplayer at all, since it would still be living body host + blues or w/e, but you would just open up more avenues for possible summons or w/e.

Not a bad idea but the problem I see with that is one of the main rewards or using a blue or black stone is getting your body back. In fact that's the only reward for killing the host as a black phantom. Black phantoms can get souls from blues but the main purpose is still to get the body back. Blue phantoms are basicly just the opposite, help the host and in return they get their body back (although blues get souls from the boss based on rating etc). So what would a body form invader get? nothing? I think the red stone is there to give you a stone for body form and that is why the reward for both sides is souls if the win, and lose a level if they lose.

Considering most invaders suicide right after so they can invade again, invading while in body form is a great idea time-wise.

If you could get invaded in soul form this game would have so much more action at lower levels.

they would still work as normal for soul form, so you could still invade to revive, adding the option to use it in living body would just allow people who want to pvp, the ability to invade faster without having to re-suicide after every win, and would still open them up to BE invaded while they were trying to invade.

Why would it have more action?

Why not just be living form, if action is what you want..

A simple suicide option in the User Interface. That way I wouldn't have to run up the stairs and jump all the time. It's very annoying.

There would be a larger pool of players to invade, therefore reducing wait times and failed sessions.

The idea that I have to jump off a cliff and kill myself in order to invade again is not very good design. Even if I stay in body form; I have to wait for someone to invade me to get some action.

You can't say the game was never intended to be played online with other people because the mechanics are in place to do that; it's just that they're not very well designed to create a constant flow without having to wait for someone to pop in.

The blue stone is another example.

What are the chances that someone in body form in a specific location will see the blue soul sign? The blue stone should of worked similarly to the black stone. Instead of invading as an enemy you would invade as a friend. If you need a mechanic to make certain people join your game (like a personal friend) then another stone with the same properties as the blue stone would do the trick. Call it a purple stone or pink stone whatever...

I just don't understand the big deal with having to jump off a cliff...Big deal.

I for one would hate having blues invade my world, what would this add to the game? I know if blues could invade my game to ..Gasp help ..lol
I would play Off-line! Also how would you hook up with friends when you keep getting invaded my blues who want to help...

Also as a black phantom if I invade now chances are its to a 3vs1.

If you want non stop pvp drop your red sign.

I wish Demon's Souls multi-player was like this...

-Soul Form
50% of Max Health
20% less damage taken
Thief's Ring passive effect
Graverobber's Ring passive effect

-Body Form
100% of Max Health
20% extra damage done

Black, Red and Blue stones would work regardless what form you're in (Soul or Body). Being in body form makes you more powerful which would be the ultimate prize (if you can keep it). The only way to get your body back would be to invade and kill host, get invaded and kill the invader, kill a boss or use stones of ephemeral eyes.

Players would need minimum soul level 25 in order to unlock 1-2 2-2 3-2 4-2 and 5-2. These zones would also not be accessible if you didn't kill the demon boss in the stage prior. Example: Can't go to 4-2 if you haven't kill boss in 4-1 even though your level 25.

Level caps would ensure PVP in tiered segments. Staying at level 24 and below would allow invaders to invade worlds 2-1 3-1 4-1 and 5-1 without any restrictions. The level cap would also remove the possibility of players getting items that would give them an unfair advantage over others.

Level cap for first playthrough would be 50. Players in this tier would be levels 25 to 49 for PVP and would allow them to invade any world in the first playthrough.

Second playthough (unlocked at level 50) the level cap would be 75. Players in this tier would be levels 50 to 74 for PVP.

The final tier in the second playthrough would be levels 75 to 100. Enabling PVP in that level range and keeping the hard level cap at 100.
