In the post-game, the smith offers me hints, but I cannot get them to work!
"Genseki items forged with Fire, Illusion, and finally Earth turn blood red"
So I took a Genseki shield and put it under the orbs for those skills yet nothing has happened. I have tested alternate methods (and a few other recipe hints from the smith) but have nothing but failure. It hurts that the orbs are jerks and will sometimes remove a seal and push the ones behind it up.
I found a Japanese site that seems to have tips if this isn't working right but I cannot get a translation that I can follow. Maybe it doesn't relate to this at all, even.
竜脈で○○をつけて○○でちゃんと埋めたのにアイテムが変化しない
* 合成で印をつけていませんか？→最後の印は必ず竜脈でつける
* 強化値が中途半端な装備を供えていませんか？→強化限界に達している装備品を規定の竜脈に供え る
From a few online translations, it seems the first point says the last seal has to be done with orbs (and not melding?)..and that's what I did (I also put the shield back under a brown orb to fill the last actual SLOT with Earth, too (Fire, Illusion, Earth, Earth, Earth) and it also did not work.
the second point has to do with the bonus points? The shield was at max (+75) and that did not work.
I think everyone else that was interested in testing these things got a copy of Final Fantasomething and are busy with that now. I am hitting my frustration limit with orbs and scrolls and traps.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated, and thank you for reading.
