What do you guys think is the worst type of pvp weapon. I dont mean a specific weapon like needle of eternal agony but more so a weapon style. Just in case you dont know what I mean by weapon style I will give you an example. Mirdan Hammer and War Scythe have the exact same move set as one another.
I would have to say I have the hardest time killing with spears. The only way I can make my spear useful is with a uchi in my left hand, then its actually quite good but by it self its awful.

The two handed swing of a straight sword is kinda slow.
I'd say rapiers suck.

It's a very subjective question, cause any weapon if planned for, can be quite deadly on the hand of a master.
If I must answer, I think dagger class style is quite weak, as the whole combat is predictable.

I'll be honest, I haven't used rapiers in the game...
But just from what I've seen they're really the type of weapons that don't make sense in pvp
Short....
The type of swings are so dedicated and sensitive that most people will evade/see it coming
What 'bout the hand weapons? Like the gold gloves? Has anyone seen a GOOD pvp'er using that? It does knock down and probably does a lot of damage... I'll try it out someday

needle of eternal agony, and broken sword cant be this that much deadly... (even in hypermode XD)
but, about type.. hmm imo is crossbow... it have only 1 usage... interrupt the cast of miracles such as SC, Heal etc

hmm bows and crossbows are just too bad, they dont count lol.
Also when it comes to the estoc there a decent weapon good when matched up with a uchi in the left hand. Also there very good weapons when there is no grass allowed.
Daggers are the second worst class I think. Although I have seen a decent build that used light weapon and a dagger, it look life away very fast.

I would say of the melee weapons fists are by far the worst. No matter what you do you will never get "high" damage out of one and by definition you have to be hugging your enemy to land a hit. The fact that I have never EVER heard of someone PvP'ing with a fist weapon unless it was A: A joke, B: Some kind of Iron Man challenge mode, or C: Two guys who just wanted to puch each other to death, makes it pretty clear they aren't a viable option.
Crossbows would fall here for ranged as well but real bows, no they are very viable. They just require a specific build and strategy that only works at a few key choke points in the game. I have heard of hyper mode bow users who could one shot people with less than 1k hp for example.
As for rapiers, I guess I didn't get the memo the last time I was invaded I killed the red with a cresent estoc +5 two handed no less.

slegan, bows are not bad o.o
its just a different gameplay to use than...
crossbows are bad, bc have reload time, after shoot, and the dmg dont wort..
and with my bow, i can hit 500... so.. its good if you score a hit..(no hypermode, with hyper is like 1k +)

Fist weapons would/could have been SO great if they let you grab people. Or disarm them.

I think it really boils down to two things when we choose weapons for PvP in DS..
Most obvious is the damage. A majority of the crowd prefer "more is better", but at the same time this is also the cause for really short PvP matches.
Second comes the moveset. Good range? Is it fast? Does its swings or thrusts come with an open trajectory?
Average players try to find the better of the two, more damage, and more space covered is the norm.
That is why I find that the rapier class is not bad, but also is not preferred by many players. The damage can be great if used properly, but in doing so requires some decent amount of skill to wield because all movesets for it are linear, straight in a path.. forcing it to be almost impossible to hit your opponent without lock-on.
Morning stars and maces are another example. The moveset is slightly arced, the damage can be ok, but you don't see the average player holding it often.
Fists, where the damage is low and the range is low is the major turnoff. Now imagine if the swings were just forward taekwondo thrusts, that would totally put it in the 'donate to needy' box.
The infamous MH/halberd sets are one where ample damage can be provided, but it's also a linear path (except R2), except for the fact that the range and ability to stunlock trumps the fact that it's a linear weapon.
Rather, mostly everyone is using weapons with wide swings like katanas, swords, axes. High damage coupled with swings that cover a good angle.

Maces, Morning Stars and War Picks are all blunt weapons by definition which makes them great weapons for breaking shields, something which is next to impossible with stuff like Uchis (unless u twohand it and the shield user sucks ofc).
The Damage is quite alright imho but the range is bad and they neither have good Run- or Rollattacks.

I am building a dual claw PvP character, a masochist class.

There arent really any "worst types of PVP weapons" it all depends on the individuals playstyle, I have seen people completely own with sharp claws +5 enchanted and i have seen bow users. But for the general person it would have to be crossbows.
Daggers, and Rapiers simply rape in the right hands. ^_ ^

I see what your saying but no matter how much I practiced with daggers I would maybe win 1/100 matches against my self using dual uchis or poles. To me that puts a weapon in a lower tier than other weapons.

I would have to say I like all the weapons in the game some are just for fun and others are just to wreck things. If i had to pick one it would have to be crossbows cause they don't get any extra damage unless it's a gargoyle xbow and reload time omg hax.

Well maybe your hands arent the right shape to use a dagger then! >:P haha :)

When I use my DEX build character (dual katana), I have difficulty pvp with this guy. A japanese player who master using Dark Silver Shield for riposte (met him about twice a day in 4-1 as blue phantom). I feels like no matter what weapon he hold (dagger or rapier) it’s deadly as he can kill me in two hits (including second chance).

I have found numerous people on the Asian servers like this. Dark Silver Shield riposte is all over the place so most of the conventional PVP weapons won't work against them. They're especially savvy against pole, katana, and BBS-style builds; it's pretty frustrating to be pulling off a seemingly perfect push-combo and eat a riposte in the middle of it. Because of this I've tried to adapt more less seen items to avoid getting reposted. I've actually found the knuckles/claws as a great alternative to a main-hand uchi. The head-butt timing seems to be a bit different and it looks hilarious, plus knuckle type weapons swing fast enough to interrupt most combos and puts you in a prime position (up close and personal) for my own push combo. So I guess that's me kind of voting against knuckles being useless.
If I had to pick a weapon I too would say daggers are on the lower end, for everything they do something else does it better. Fatal estoc is more popular than fatal secret dagger, also the dagger can push combo but it's damage is too low that it's not really deadly unless in hyper mode. Hope it gets improved in the future somehow, daggers look cool and are fun to use for the most part.

Tbh, daggers are pretty much useless.
The few people who used it on me (baby's nail) pretty much went down while they tried to slash me up.
Protip: Ignite probably has a better range than a dagger.

They were using it wrong. Daggers pretty much require backstabs and ripostes to be effective. A dagger player of any skill will never simply be "trying to slash you up".

The only problem with using a relatively weak weapon like some kind of dagger and going for riposte is how easy they are to backstab. I remember playing someone who riposted me once with a fatal dagger took my sc off and then all I did was go for backstabs and there was no chance he could riposte me again. Usually when they see that happening they will go for backstabs as well and when I see them runing toward me I know there going for a BS because you cannot parry while running. When you know someone is coming to backstab you there are several options that will dominate them ESPECIALLY if u have an uchi in your left hand or a weapon with the lock combo like bbs or even a pole. Basically with a weapon like a dagger your options are more limited basically making it a worse weapon than nearly all the competitive weapons. Its like playing super smash bros melee and trying to beat the best player in the world who is using Fox or Marth while you use Bowser. Sure its possible...... but its literally nearly impossible and to me that makes the weapon "worse" than other weapons in the game. Or in smashes case a character worse than other characters. There is a massive difference in pvp for fun and pvp to win and options like approaching options and defensive options are what make them viable to use the more options u have the better the weapon so long as its not underpowered when it comes to damage.

I use spears all the time. Find them easier than some weapons. Especially against those stupid dogs. At least you cn use a shield with a spear. Can't really name a specific weapon but I can't stand the big ones that you have to more or less swing your whole body to get it to work. And, if you don't swing fast enough, you get caught. I'm talking something like meat cleaver, or even great sword. If you have the strength to wield them, they should have been made easier to swing.

Disagree....
If they were made easier to swing everyone would just use them (they knock down + deal a lot of damage)
People who use large weapons incorrectly die because they don't adapt to changing situations during a fight.

I wouldn't use a meat cleaver no matter how easy it were to swing. I happen to like the look of a weapon too, and I think the meat cleaver is just ugly.
