Online play!

I keep reading rumors that Atlus is going to shut down the servers for this game. That will be very sad as all the fun is online. I would like someone from Atlus that reads this to answer this rumors. I know I see less people online but this game has a very loyal and dedicated online community.

I'm sure it's in ATLUS's/From Software's agreement that the Demon's Souls server will run for "x amount of time" and a decision on how much longer it's run is determined after that.

Businesses work like that
It's not "Oh no one's playing so let's pull the plug"

That's how us gamers think, businesses agree to terms "from X date, to X date." And extend the service if they deem it profitable or doable.

If they shut the server down anytime soon that would be absolutely pathetic. I for one think we will have a long time to play this online still and if we dont I will lose all faith.

haha. you're posting everywhere. Stuck at SL200's.. x_x.. You can either hit it up to 712, or delevel yourself (somehow, either take a beating from False King Allant or Mephistopheles to get yourself delevelled ).

On Topic: If i recall, that thingo exires in uh.. was it May?.. April or June >_>.

dont worry. nobody expected this game to be a 'smash hit'. People think it is one. It received praises everywhere and i doubt Atlus had such an Increase of new faithfuls EVER.

shutting down the servers woul take away about 80-90% of the fun of this game. why should anyone want to do that?

completely agree with you there, the games only been out for 6 months though and i think if it were to shutdown its servers i would never buy an atlus game again,.actually i'm concerned at the moment there are two of these topics no one has addressed this issue and for quite a while now i have seen no admin or mods reply to anything. are these boards moderating themselves now? has anyone else noticed this? a concerned consumer. sorry for this rant but FF13 has just been ruined for me by a forum member who thinks its hilarious.

I've noticed a steady decline in online play that you can't deny. Without an increase of online players, I don't see the financial reasoning to keep the servers active. North Armerican servers are probably managed by a different company than the ones in Asia. Thus, separate contracts that must be negotiated. If I'm a company that hosts online games for developers and statistics show me a drastic drop of activity, I might be inclined to reclaim those resources for a new title.
