Which one is better for PVP? Is Acid Cloud looked down upon or something? (I heard it was) Basically, which one would help me kill someone a lot faster?

Death Cloud; plague deals more damage and faster than poison. Though both of these spells are easy to cure with the right items. If you bring both spells you'll likely have better chances because I'd imagine not everyone runs around ready to deal with poison and plague at the same time.

There are no rules to PVP. It's kill or be killed. I've had people cast Death Cloud on me. I've had others cast Poison Cloud and some cast Acid Cloud. The ones who don't like something are generally the ones who will make liberal use of it. Or they simply didn't build their character to deal with the situation or bring supplies.

Acid Cloud - breaks armor and equipment (if your opponent isn't good, then it's an easy kill.)

Poison Cloud - not effective on players.

Death Cloud -- Better than poison cloud but suffers the same problem.

A prepared player will may still beat you when poisoned or suffering from the plague. It's a risk you take. Most players know the sounds of the spells and know when to back away. So, it's all up in the air on it's effectiveness.

Ignore casting something and attack. It's your best bet. Or soul ray them while they are down. (Soul Ray, Fireball, Firestorm, Soul Arrow -- anything offensive)

Yeah, these aren't good spells to follow up a backstab with, they don't kill very quickly.

If you're quick, casting either Plague or Poison after a knock down is always in your best interest, imo. Your opponent will generally catch whatever you cast upon getting up and therefore receive reduced healing, which after a BS or knock down is pretty valuable. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Plague, but I was under the assumption that it impedes Stamina regen, halves healing effects and does more damage (c/d).

Plague, however, takes 2 magic slots, which for me is an issue, hence why I don't have it. Poison takes 1 slot and works just fine for my needs, which is simply to half healing effects and put my opponent more on the defense. At that point you can generally just ride them and wait for them to try and cure the ailment, slipping in another BS at that point.

It's not about the damage so much as the effects that cripple your opponent. The damage, however, does help after a massive BS blow, since you generally only need a bit more to push them over a SC or death.

Death Cloud is the best option as it reduces the healing of items to 1/2 their original refill (ie new moon grass will only give you 1/2 your full hp bar instead of all of it if they have plague).

Also plague impedes stamina regeneration (slowing the rate at which stamina bar refills) which is another big plus on melee characters. In more casual PvP most average players don't have high supply (if any) of widows lotus/dark moon grass to remove it also.

Death Cloud is the best bet
Though Acid Cloud is really interesting. Can be deadly if used effectively

I have two spells books set up
Offensive (Soul ray/Homing soul arrows + Firestorm + Death cloud)
Defensive (Homing soul arrows + Acid cloud + Death cloud).
i mostly prefer my defensive since i have but 20 vit and get take down with ease so Acid make my every hit landed on me to be nothing and their armours are papers to my Cresent Kilij +5 plus the extra 6 dmg per sec by Death cloud is a bonus....feel free to judge my set up

After backstab you can go for Fireball to finish off the opponent.

Acid cloud is okay, but might not be feasible to some weapons and armor with high durability. Unless you combo with scraping spear. However you just waste so much time to break someone weapon that the same effort can be use on killing which is more effective.

Plague is good, because it reduce stamina regeneration. Thats a big issue to lots of average players. Pro players can be pressured, but it wouldn't take long for them to consume a lotus. However that would buy enough time to go for the kill.
