Just received my Toughest Soul trophy (Applause On) (Applause Off). Big whoop. So, how many people go beyond NG+++ (NG4)? What is there to do around SL 121? I don't see that many blue signs when going through the areas. The most activity seems to occur in the lower levels [SL 4 - SL 65]. That's when I got summoned the most.
De-leveling isn't really an option (even though I would like to). Starting over is an option and trying to specialize. Problem is I'll want warding, soul ray, evacuate and (AMF or God's Wrath). I'll also want to weild some good weapons. To be honest, Demonbrandt is one of the best weapons at lower levels. Although, I did pretty good with a Crescent Uchigatana +5.
Don't you people get tired of the same thing over and over? I'd really love some sort of DLC with a new map and such.

i've had characters as high as NG16. as far as what to do around 120, pvp, pvp, pvp, and a little co-op.

Yeah, I think once you know your way around all the worlds really well and you get the trophies (if you want to), the only "new" excitement you'll get is from PvP.

Then what is the point of taking a character to SL 120 if there is no co-op play happening? I figure the casual gamer only plays through one time and stops.

The only thing I do and I mean ONLY thing I do now is PVP. SL 120 being PERFECT. So thats my advice.

So, all you are doing is invading? I'd rather help players through their NG+ or NG++. I just don't see that many people going beyond NG (casual). Demon Souls is becoming an older game. People who asked me to be their friend have moved on to other games (MAG, Battlefield Bad Company 2, etc.). What is the true longevity of this game and how much longer will the servers be active?

you may not have noticed, but DS isn't exactly made for the casual gamer.

No, it's not. However without all of the additional playthroughs for trophies, this game is very short. You beat it once and the game remains the same. The only thing to change is difficulty.
Personally, I found NG+ hard. NG++ was much easier. Of course, I increased my stats.

My suggestion would be to stop leveling up and keep beating the game and upgrading other weapons you might be interested in.
This will result in a fulfilling experience since once you stop leveling up the game will get harder every time (and more difficult = more fun)
pvp's OK (I win more than I lose), but what makes the game fun for me is the difficulty of each world.

I have a SL131 TK and an SL148 Ry... both are NG++...
yeah it does get boring... and there aren't as many blue signs, although there are some. I put mine out quite frequently, but you do need to watch for "Blue Farming" -_-. Honestly, I think the Red Soul Sign/Red Eye stone should prevent the summoning of blue phantoms - it's meant to be a 1v1 challenge =p
Mostly I just want to max out some stats, and tool around. I'd prefer to coop if I can. The Royal, I'm mostly experimenting with thematically; the Temple Knight was far more focused in character development.
Still, it's fun to boot black phantoms off ledges in world 3-2 with God's Wrath/Push

that would screw over the tournie pvpers, we have a host summon a blue stone and red stone and have the phantoms duel. that is the only fair way to do it since both people involved have the same HP and such.

So, basically, those of you who have collected all of the trophies and beaten the game a few times have been making stuff up to do. Great. That a sign that the game lacks in ability to maintain one's attention. You're creating stuff to do to keep your interest. Is that about it?

You should level to 712 and troll the bosses.
The only thing that'll make me move on to another game is the end of electricity.
Mag is horrible.
BFBC2 is okay, but neither are as good as Demon's souls.

This forum is hardly 10% of the Demon's Souls community...
I'm sure many other people start new characters with new classes
Some build up new weapons, beat the game in harder difficulty (not leveling up). Some reverse roles (from sidekick/helper) to Black Phantom/invader. Or those invaders decide to instead of invading, help.
There's also leveling up (allows for usage of more weapons such as Bramd and heavy armors)
It's really up to you what you want to do with it

Or go farm/dupe Mercury, Tearing and Fatal upgrades and complete the Wiki?
Yeah, I know. Fat chance.
