help me with my build please....

ok so I just beat this game for the first time so I'm now on NG+ with my main character, he's SL82 and I just kinda alloted points where needed to use equipment I found... I guess you could say I'm being noobish since I use the Blue Blood Sword and Dark Silver Shield, buuuut anyway I was kinda wondering if someone could direct me in how I should continue leveling up... the kinda style I like is quick strikes (would duel wield weapons if I found a pair that would actually be usefull) I usually don't use armor because I rely on rolling much more then my shield. I know this is kinda vague description and all but here's my build so far

Vit: 20
Int: 21 (need it higher, I want to have 4 slots for magic, 2 for light weapon, 1 for Souls Arrow and 1 for poison cloud, if you think one or more of these spells are useless and should be replaced/not used just let me know)
End: 25
Str: 23
Dex: 25
Mag: 18
Faith: 18
Luck: 12

open to any suggestions really... just kinda want direction instead of plopping points in randomly XD thanks

Your luck is too low for a BB sword build. Considering the amount of spells you want, you should have focused on a mage build. What soul level do you wanna stop at? I would de-level and re-build, it looks like you're trying to even the stats out, you wanna focus on being great at something! Example I am a level 105 BB build with 35 luck. The BB sword is modified by both magic and physical damage with each luck stat. This would be a good mage build at level 105 IMHO..

Makes you powerful mage with decent sword skills, you'll buff weapons making them stronger and then you can learn to make spells more powerful by using kris blade or any item that boost magic damage. If you go mage grab firestorm!!!

You need to level up that VIT mate... otherwise you'll be crushed later on... (especially in PvP)... as HarbingerofChaos said, 50 VIT min... your build also looks too spread out... remember, "jack of all trades..." focus on how you like to play. If for instance your weapon of choice is the BBS, then level up luck and magic, and de-level DEX and STR. It really all depends around what SL you wanna stay. Most ppl cap between SL 120-130.

Its not that bad with your stats, except for dex :p You should try the following:

vit 40-50+ (depending on the level your aiming for)
int 24 (there you have your 4 slots, use silver circlet for mp boost)
end 40 (33+ is fine for max. attacks, but 40 end is never wasted)
str 22 (you can have the PFS there and the BBS scales C with str, not wasted)
dex 18 (25 is a bit wasted but nvm)
faith 18 (leave it there, enough for talisman of beasts too)
magic 32+ (for enchant weapon and 5 HSA dots if you use it)
luck 18 (going higher in luck is a waste in general, rather go magic)

You do not need 50VIT, 40 will suffice and remember VIT is the only stat you CAN'T de-level. Also the higher SL you go the tougher it is to find PVP. I found that SL 100-120 will still generate PVP matches without a lot of wait time. Also if you plan on being a mage you don't need high VIT since most of your matches wont involve you fighting with swords..

I disagree. Hight VIT is never a waste. I've come across a few mages that apparently were focused too much on magic and other stats, and had low VIT... I'd guess somewhere between 20 and 30 VIT... needless to say they got crushed with a couple swings... while they were trying to kill me with soul arrow, a fireball, or firespray... :confused:

Spells work great in PvE, or in PvP whilst assisting or being assisted vs a BP. Otherwise, you'd need a trusty enchated weapon. And for that, you need decent VIT (close combat).

There is nothing more hilarious than someone doing massive damage with Firestorm, then dying when I rush them and swing twice.


You don't use swords, but other people do.

That's just a timing issue... Or I take it you can swiftly kill any mage that uses firestorm? The point is getting him to specialize instead of trying to even out all stats.

25 is decent enough if you stay at SL 105 and cast shield. Now if you're going to seriously PVP battle I agree you need high VIT.

I will never make a character with lower than 50 vit ever again. If you do the odds of you beating any skilled PVP players is low. Maybe like 45 but 40 and lower is asking to get 1hko from fatal weapons or DBS, or just get killed in 1 combo. For bbs builds from what I understand MAG is more important that luck because I have never fought a BBS build that is dangerous unless they cast light weapon. I know someone who has 7 luck and 40 magic or something and when he casts light wep he does over 500dmg. Keep your dex and str as low as possible but high enough to use the weapons u like. Also u cant go wrong with 40 END. All of my builds have 40 END.

thank you for all the reply's I am not really looking for a mage build, rather I just want those slots so I can have light weapon as well as the 2 I mentioned or instead have light weapon and maybe warding... also I'm not sure I will keep using the BB sword I will def pump my VIT a bit more maybe not to 50 but def higher, that is one stat that seems for the most part unanimous.
I guess the type of build I want would be a speed attacker (i know thats not really specific) ummm I suppose in traditional RPG fashion it would be the charter that evades a lot but has pretty crappy def as it's downfall and trys to use buff magics to make his light attacks deal more dmg per hit.....also what are you're guys' opinions on dual wielding weapons? is it pointless? do you get better results just two-handing a wep instead? cuz I do plan on pumping END a lot, maybe even past 40... I may have to de-level like some of you said though. oh and I plan at stopping at 120 since that is what seems to be what the accepted level for most of the topics I see about PvP.

At 40 End, the gain in Stamina stops (160) going beyond that is never worth it imho. Dual wielding is good for cruved swords (uchi, kiliji). personally i like 2handing my weapons, mostly because of the different attacks.

^this for blueblood. Mine has 45vit,40end,30mag,23luck SL120.

otherwise with you stats so heavy in str and dex, you could use a meat cleaver. For PvE whatever works. For PvP, you might need to restat.

I think I'm just gonna make this char my lvl 712 char (which will take forever) and make a new char strictly for PvP... would be a lot easier to restat that way...

@Thaumogenesis- alright thanks for that info, I think my pvp char will be using those weps I kinda don't wanna be someone everyone looks at and is like "oh jeeze ANOTHER bbs user...." XD I think I'll try to dual wield katana's (then again that's kinda common from what i've seen as well) one last question for you, is it possible to parry and riposte human players? I've tried a few times (kinda in a panic) with no success... is there certain weps that can't be parried?

@rkzhao- ok well for this char I'll start pumpin mag. eventually they'll all be at 99 :/
