I'm playing the first game and it is truly an addictive and fun experience. Unfortunately, this so called 2nd looks more like an expansion than anything else. Something tells me that SEGA &Co. are just trying to capitalize on the game’s success. It remains to be seen though.

I wonder if this 2nd will include the new vocaloids, as well...
Or they can't include them because of they're from different company?

* Release Date: July 29th, 2010

* Features: “Duets songs” will be introduced — two vocaloids on the screen together.
* Edit Mode: You’ll be able to see your edits in real time — convenient for matching Miku’s motions and button presses to the music.
* Other: Music from the first game to return.

They are duets in this version and they will have more songs for each vocaloid!
To answer your question is yes!

She was, all Crypton Vocaloids are present... I guess, the casts in this game are still the same then.
I hope each Vocaloid have their own dance style, seeing Kaito dance like Miku was just hilariously wrong.

Really just wish someone would localize Vocaloid for PC instead, I'm not terribly interested in the spin-offs.

I will definitely import this. These new features are enough to warrent a purchase, especially the ones for Edit Mode. Not being able to see what edits you make in real-time is a pain. Maybe I'll actually finish a PV this time! Hope the duet feature is in this game's edit mode too.
I also hope to see male dance moves too. So disappointed when I could use Kaito, yet still was forced to use the female dances.

The Vocaloid 2 Program's Japanese language is just a cover. If you remove a text file, then it will be reverted to the English that Vocaloids like Sonika or Prima use by default. There are a few tutorials out there but it's really simple, so there is no need.

Lovely costumes!
I guess it would be smartest to localize the 2nd one if they intend to bring over this game, it probably improves some things over the first.
Also, I agree with hoping for different dancing styles - I haven't seen it myself, but it does sound pretty strange to see him dance exactly like the girls :P Poor guy.
