I played the DS version, but held off buying, since I heard the PsP version would have voice and other additions. I would greatly appreciate this version being localized.

I'd love to make a sarcastic comment but I'm sure onion said it best.
Yes, because the DS version sold so well.
Note my use of italics to indicate sarcasm.
Wait. If I put "sarcasm" in italics, am I being sarcastic about being sarcastic, and thus not in fact being sarcastic after all? I need to go think about this.
I believe this is the thread your after.

How about as a PSN title, then? Leave the Japanese voices, re-use the DS translation, should be real quick and simple for Atlus to do with little out of pocket expense.

Sony has some rule about the games being properly localized on PSN or some crap like that. So... unfortunately, not going to work. Copypasta translation wouldn't work either... considering the PSP version may deviate slightly from the DS version. It would still require some additional effort... and despite the PSN being a 'nice' option and all... it still costs developers about the same in the end to get a game published on PSN as compared to a physical release. Instead of paying for shelf space at the stores and whatnot, they have to pay some bigger licensing fee to Sony. Overall convoluted... but... either way, the game won't be released by Atlus USA. :(
And I kinda missed out on this title myself when it was on DS. I had limited funds and my eyes set on something else. :P That said, though... I wonder if Knights in the Nightmare for DS sold well enough to warrant Atlus bringing the PSP release? I've been playing all of the Dept. Heaven games on PSP... then again, maybe I should suck it up and buy the DS version as a show of support. Hm...

The bolded part is quite wrong it cost more or less half to 60 to get the game published. And extra fee is not licensing but a percent cut for being in the PSN store just like any DDL service (i.e. Appstore, XBLA what not).

As I said in the other older thread (iirc), stop asking for shet that's already in english and buy the one that's already available. And since most of you are american, it'll be cheap (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=73478).
This thread is a waste of bandwidth, you guys are ungrateful of Atlus' work on the original release and you're also as sad as the Tales of Vesperia group.

Oh, yes, you sound like a guy who's all about buying games. Go and localize it quickly Atlus, so he can play the PSP version too.
Seriously though, when an admin comes in here to criticize a game's sales, you can assume they want nothing more to do with it. You'd do better to cast your lot with the Growlanser people.

Actually, I'm entirely on-board with the idea of localizing the PSP game.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of flak for this... but I really, really hate the DS. It's uncomfortable to hold and use, the two screens are awkward, stylus controls (when applicable) always make me feel disconnected from the action (like when I'm forced to use a mouse for control in a PC game), and there's no TV-out option like there is on the PSP (so when I'm at home, which is 95% of the time I'd be playing video games anyway, I'm still forced to play on a tiny screen in front of my face).
As a result, I find myself NOT BUYING GAMES on the DS, even if they sound kind of interesting to me, because I know I'm pretty much never going to play them - even if the game is seriously awesome, the inconvenience of having to play it on a system that I find uncomfortable and unwieldy in every way more than halves the funfactor for me.
I played the Japanese demo of My World My Way PSP, though, and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. So much so that I ALMOST went out and bought the DS version... but again, knowing how little chance there was for me to actually play it, I refrained.
If this came out on PSP, however, I would be ALL OVER IT. I would buy it on day one. And while I'm probably in the minority, I can bet I'm NOT alone in that sentiment.

Looks if I had known about this game when it first came out, I most certainly would have bought it(and i still might), but I only just played the game last month at a friends house, then I found out about the psp version on JP PSN.
And I am on board with the Growsians/"Growlanser People"(was the original reason for creating this account).
Considering I'm a JRPG fanatic, I'm up for any titles of that kind that Atlus will localize.

I don't know, I play my DS at home all the time and am fine with it. To each their own I guess.

Well, it's certainly a noble cause.

Ah, okay. Well, I had misunderstood what I'd read then. Or mis-remembered it, since I don't remember where I read it. But thank you for clearing that up for me. Either way, even that 50%-60% is too much for Atlus to bother with on a game that failed to meet expectations on the DS. I mean. After localization costs. Since localization is still required in that respect. :P

Actually, you know what's funny? Because of this thread I've decided to get the DS version of Knights in the Nightmare if I can find it. Unfortunately it isn't exactly cheap. But I don't mind paying full price on a good game. :P
And the Tales of Vesperia group... I'm a Tales fan... and the fact that anyone even thought it was a good idea to ask Atlus about it... just makes me facepalm. That would be like asking Microsoft to localize a Mario game. -_-; Standard policy applies with Tales games. "If Namco Bandai doesn't release it, then no one will".

I'd buy it!!!!!!!
I've never played it. Even thought I have a DS. Yes, I'm too lazy to go to gamestop and buy it, even thought that's not the case when an SMT game is announced.
