Look, it's an interview:

And it's a post on how this game is awesome.

I was getting a little worried that I wasn't seeing any reviews for this. Found one:

You can't argue with an 8.0/10.

Weird too is that I guess GameZone just tries to tell it as straight as possible since the reviewer, even with what seems like such a mediocre score stated in another forum that she absolutely loves the game! I think the 7.5 rating is sort of an average of the multiple aspect rating and having given the Graphics a 6 and Sound a 7 really brought the overall average down.

While I understand the game isn't for everyone and the overall rating of an 8 was decent...but how the heck did they rate the replay as 6.5?!
Can anybody think of a MORE replayable line of games than the Shiren/Mystery Dungeon series? I don't think the reviewer even HINTED at all the shoot that opens up after you've cleared the main quest (to me the VERY best part!).
I mean look at this quote about the replayability:
Replay: Randomized dungeons help give a little incentive for replay if you wish to ’level grind’, but this only goes so far.
Did they not even finish the game to make this clueless of a statement?

The IGN review is up: http://wii.ign.com/articles/106/1068074p1.html
I'll pick it up because I'm curious as to how this genre plays like, and I don't really mind games with sub-par graphics (so far one of the complains I've heard of this game).
Anyone knows the approximate playtime to beat this game? (just getting to the ending, not 100% complete with all items/exploration etc.)

While I do appreciate reading a thoughtfully written review, I'd pick this title up even with poor mainstream media reviews. It's just one of those titles I know I'll enjoy playing.

On "easy", it'll take probably 35-40 hours. On normal, you can expect to add 5-10, as it will take you longer to refresh your lost inventories.

Also realize that this is an estimate to how long it takes to get through the main story, if you really want to clear out many of the side quests that open up later, add many more hours on top of that!

I love his opening paragraph and I guess the rest of the review is okay.
BUT HERE IS WHERE I GET PARANOID...why no mention of the post story stuff?
Many of the Shiren DS reviews talked about the post story dungeons in that version so why not mention of them in this version? If it weren't for the fact that I played the import and KNOW this cool stuff is in there I'd have never known from the reviews so far.
I get that reviews can't tell everything but this whole world of adventure being unlocked once the story is completed is just too huge a cool thing to not even hint at ESPECIALLY when this review again comments on the rather short game time with little replayability! WTF?!

Nice, altought lately I just beat the games without going 100%. Not enough time to do it all. :(

Same here but what I've always loved about the Mystery Dungeon games is there inclusion of "Hall of Fame" rankings for each of the post story dungeons. I tend to play them to beat my own personal best scores, not really ever hoping to truly conquer them (much like Fei's Final Puzzle on the DS, I think my best was diving down to the 40th level or so but I had a blast trying).

Haha, I've seen you raging on this subject on at least 3 sites, LordGek. Lord knows how many more there are that I don't see!
I don't think reviewers are commenting on the post-game because, and chances are.... Most of them didn't get that far. Shocker, I know. In their defense, a lot of reviewers have a lot on their plate right now in one of the busiest 1st quarters ever.
If they get far enough in the game that they feel they can review it, they're not going to talk about the post-game and potentially spread misinformation.
At this point, we'll have to take matters into our hands, eh?

That's what fanatics like myself are here for. Sorry but when they state there is little replay to the most replayable Wii RPG at the moment it irks me a bit.

All these reviews do is help cement my stance in not caring what review scores a game gets when it comes to what I buy.

I agree but, grr, I just want some objective reporting here.
"Certainly not for everyone but if already a fan of the Mystery Dungeon series of game you might appreciate these new system tweaks..." All of these reviews assume you know nothing of these previous games and at best will kind of state, "If you liked Shiren DS you'll probably like this one as well."

Jeremy Parish's coverage introduced me to Shiren on Ds when it originally released. I will be forever grateful for that! He even devoted an entire episode of 1up's ATB podcast to Rougelikes! He is a rare breed among journalists.

Indeed he is, and that was a fantastic expisode!
He definitely convinced me to give the Shiren series a try and I haven't been disappointed.
