View Full Version : Gamestop is making me sad

My local Gamestop is not accepting preorders for Shiren, which seems to be a common problem for this game. I'm personally getting the game from Amazon so its no problem for me. However, most likely no one in my town will have an opportunity to happen upon Shiren on the shelves and pick it up. I really want this game to be successful to ensure future games make it to North America. Plus, it would be great for Atlus to turn a profit on such a risky game. Although, without the game actually being available on shelves it seems rather unlikely.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I tried a few times over the last 5 weeks to pre-order at a couple of GS's near me and they kept telling me that it wasn't in the system. I tried for the last time a few days ago and the Sales Person told me that the game was categorized as a "not accepting pre-orders". So I placed an order at amazon.

But I feel that if game specialty stores are black balling this game, its gonna fail, at least from a sales stand point. Which sucks since its a great game (I own the JP version)

Yeah, it's sad when game specialty store would prefer to fill up shelf space with generic retreads instead of giving gamers actual options. I'm glad amazon is at least better stocked.

I hope this release does well for Atlus, too. I love the fact that they bring amazing titles over to North America that we otherwise would likely not be able to enjoy. Even if I'm really anticipating a game, I will hold off on importing it if Atlus have announced they'll bring it to us, as I'd much rather support Atlus for being well--awesome!
