I have been following this game for a little while now and was curious if anyone out here has the Japanese version of the game and what thier opinion of such is. For me this kinda reminded me of a cross between Elite, Wing Commander, and a strategy SIM from the description but I don't know a lot about the overal structure and play of the game. Anyone out there playing / played such?

I think it plays like a cross of those games (space trading sims) and an RPG, at least fom the reviews that I've heard.

I think it will be like the old classics such as Starflight and some other things...Star Control? with something like Outlaw Star thrown in.

Actually, I was just left with the impression it was like Star Trek done right as a game. That might be the second time that's ever happened, in the same year, no less.
DS's first quarter is pretty huge.
I don't know much on Sands of Destruction, but Glory of Heracles is next week, then there's Ace Attorney Investigations, Infinite Space, SMT: Strange Journey and Pokemon: HG/SS.

Yah the DS has a lot of really cool looking games coming out in the next two months. I also enjoy tactics type games and have been keeping an eye on Spectral Force Genesis. That one is another interesting hybrid of tactics and RPG.

I've been thinking about it myself maybe after tax returns come in. We just forked out 500 for a hot water heater so we're going to be a bit tight for a while. Having a house is awesome but upkeep can be murder.

From the reviews I read, the game is pretty awesome. I like the 2 battle systems and the ship customizations. It reminds of Front Mission on the DS for some reason.
