All 3 are for the DS. A set of an un-localized series, so I thought I'd toss out the idea.

Death Note (Kira Game, Successors of L, L Prelude to Death Note)

Strategy based gameplay, that allows player to choose between what role to pursue. Since Kira and Successors is based on the Anime/Manga, it may be a better fit for L Prelude. But any thoughts?

As much as I enjoyed the Death Note series (by enjoy, I mean liked it enough to watch it once), I don't want to see these games come over. I just don't see the point, honestly. Perhaps it is just me... In addition, I'm not sure if the fan base for this is on par with lets say, Naruto, Bleach or Full Metal Alchemist (I've seen PS2 games of this).

Today I almost went out and bought Sands of Destruction, thankfully I didn't find it.

And then I found out was based on an anime. So I'm putting that cash towards Glory of Heracles and SMT: SJ preorder. If its a show, I can watch it. I just like my game experiences based on non-licensed material.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the anime is based on the game. Kinda like what they did for Valkyria Chronicles. Or Pokemon.

...you do know that MegaTen was originally based on a book, right?

Yeah, the Sands of Destruction anime came after the game was made. I'm pretty sure it's supplementary to the game, but I'm not entirely positive.

The anime was aired after the game was announced, but that was before the game came out since the show was suppose to promote the game. The show sucked and was pretty unpopular so the game bombed badly.

I heard the game bombed because the combat was unbalanced way too far in the player's favor in the original release.

Kinda weird that the anime came first though. Seems like an ass-backwards way of doing things.

^Not if you are using the show to promote the game.

But yeah, the anime was based on the game. From the little I had watched it didn't even seem to follow the story from the game.

The difficulty was all over the place until you could exploit linking specials, but for the US version they made the whole game pretty easy and a few other parts unbalanced. The combat is pretty fun once you can link specials actually, but I can't help thinking how good the game would be if they actually balanced it properly.

Honestly if you want a more balanced RPG on the DS this month you'd be better off getting Glory of Heracles next week since the only problem that game had in the Japanese version was the slowness of the combat, and from what I've heard they made it faster for the US release. The game was suppose to have some hard parts, but for the most part I heard it's pretty balanced.

Yeah, actually, I'm more psyched for Heracles then for Sands. Sands just had big developer names behind it and looked mildly interesting, but Heracles is something I actually want to play for serious.

So...about that 7th Dragon localization? And where is my Soma Bringer?

If you want a good DS suggestion, ask Atlus to publish Jump Ultimate Stars. If they do that, then we'll see more publshers will start hoping on the "bring your franchises here" bandwagon more (especially how Capcom got away with Tatsunoko vs Capcom. That was just...a marvel, so to speak).

Yeah but I thought they wouldn't bring Jump because multiple companies in the US own the rights to the series featured in the game. Like Viz holds most of the rights to stuff that appeared in Jump comics, but a few companies snatched the rights to others, and some are still left unclaimed.

It'd be some kind of legal hassle where Atlus has to make deals with company xyz just to release a niche game. I'm not saying it's impossible though, for those who have played games that have 18 companies listed in the opening credits hahaha.

I really hope Atlus brings Super Robot Taisen Og Saga Endless Frontier Exceed to the United States. I played the first one and it says to be continued so if Atlus does not bring it to america that would be stupid to leave to be continued at the end instead of the end. My question to Atlus is will you hurry up and bring Exceed to the states!? Please?! Come on, PLEASE!?

You're Stealth, aren't you?

Also, you ever think that Atlus is already booked with alot of titles, and thus can't start on such a project at the moment? Because if that was the reason, then it explains alot.

So please, try to convince ATLUS USA to release Draglade 2, please. I'm begging you. So please contact me by email by the end of may decide to release the game or not by RollPak@hotmail.com

the battle system in Sands of Destruction is the same as Xenogears

Since we're already talking other titles... Don't know if this would be possible, but since Squareenix seems to pass this awesome little gem, maybe Atlus could serve as publisher for SaGa 2: Goddess of Destiny in the USA?

Furthermore, all Super Robot Taisen Games that came and will come out on DS (especially Exceed ^^") Also, Etrian Odyssey 3, but that seems a no-brainer anyways.

I second Jump Super/Ultimatestars, but I guess this is to much of a license hassle and these games are quite old today, too (even though they're timeless and great)...

I kinda have the feeling that the DS might fade out soon when it's about new games (3DS on the horizon), entering the end of its "lifecycle". Usually, that's when Atlus seems to get really active, with no other big productions stealing away attention. So I hope we'll see some of our suggestions in the stores this and next year ^

Time for a little nitpicking.

Since we're already talking other titles... Don't know if this would be possible, but since Squareenix seems to pass this awesome little gem, maybe Atlus could serve as publisher for SaGa 2: Goddess of Destiny in the USA?

That's Square-Enix's territory, and I'm not sure if they'd be willing to hand it over to Atlus, not to mention the PS2 remake of the original SaGa game didn't sell real well. Plus the game rushed you to the ending with somewhat random times of all enemies upgrading and story events occurring. That was not fun...not by any stretch of the definition.

Furthermore, all Super Robot Taisen Games that came and will come out on DS (especially Exceed ^^")
Excluding the Original Generation games, no other Super Robot Taisen game could come to the US, since there's MAJOR licensing issues with each robot series used being owned by a different company in the US. It just would not work...and I'm telling you this for your own good so your hopes don't get brought up. For I too want the games to come here, along with my beloved Another Century's Episode. T_T

To tell the truth, I have no ideas for what Atlus could bring to the US that they haven't already commented on or that another company has taken. In other words, tapped out.

At this point, I just want Atlus to surprise us with stuff. Yes, we'll be getting LA: Eyes, Etrain III, etc, but I'd love to see a surprise or two from them, even if it's not on the DS.

Yes atlus just announced it today for the ds. Reading the press release almost made me sick

The first one apparently made alot of money despite being ####. So of course atlus wants to rake in the money and localize garbage in the process

They should start putting specific e-mail addresses on a ban notice, making it impossible for them to join. That way we wouldn't have to worry about repeat offenders.

That said, I think I'm ready for whatever Atlus throws at me, DS or not. BRING IT, BABY!

Just a nitpick here. There was no PS2 remake of the original SaGa game. There was a PS2 remake of Romancing SaGa, which is a different game. The only time the original SaGa has ever been remade was for the WonderSwan Color (nice remake, too).

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if S-E passes on localizing SaGa 2 (upset, but not surprised—the game is awesome), and I wouldn't be surprised if Atlus passed on it even if they were given the green light from S-E. The market these days is absolutely flooded with "quirky" DS RPGs, which could be part of why some pretty good games simply haven't been selling very well.

Anyway, as should be obvious by now, I'm happy with whatever Atlus can and does release. They make good decisions. :) Soma Bringer looks like a good / interesting pick. It would also be interesting to see Shining Force Feather make it over to our shores, whether via Atlus or someone else. There are a lot of neat games out there.

EDIT:

Oh, and re: this point:

That's Square-Enix's territory, and I'm not sure if they'd be willing to hand it over to Atlus

It looks like Natsume is publishing Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals in North America (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/26/natsume-publishing-lufia-curse-of-the-sinistrals-in-north-ameri/). So we know Square Enix isn't totally opposed to having other companies publish some relatively classic (if oddly reimagined...) stuff in North America.

Because due to license conflict along with Super Robot Taisen (except Original Generation). Also it might be spoiler too.
