The original Red Steel was a disappointing Wii launch title due to numerous bugs, laughable dialogue, terrible sword-play, and a wonky aiming system. Red Steel 2 is going to correct those problems, and the slick new presentation is also a nice welcome addition. Wii Motion Plus will immerse you in the game even more. Let's hope they don't rush this one out and dramatically improve the sword-play.

9. http://www.megatonnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/the-grinder-e3.jpg

I'm putting The Grinder low on the list because High Voltage Software's last First Person Shooter (FPS) project for the Wii, The Conduit, was mediocre at best and did not live up to the hype. This looks like a massive improvement in every area. It's basically Left 4 Dead for the Wii. With 4 player online co-op, 2 player split-screen play, 65 enemies on the screen at once, astounding graphics and atmosphere, all running at 60 frames person second, this shooter is one to keep your eyes on. Oh, and the enemies so far look pretty cool.

Fragile Dreams, a post-apoclyptic Japanese Role-Playing Game (JRPG), was announced a long ways back, but now it's finally releasing in the US next month. You shine your flashlight with the Wii Remote and explore the ruins of the world. The inspiring art style and interesting plot is sure to be appreciated by all JRPG gamers.

7. http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/915/915813/sin-and-punishment-2-20081002032147636_640w.jpg

Sin and Punishment 2 is getting released in the US without a 10 year delay. The original one is deemed as the best rail-shooter ever, and with Nintendo working on it, you know this one will be even better. Here's hoping that this is longer than most rail-shooters.

6. http://thenintendo.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/tales-of-graces-2.png

http://site.video-game-central.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/arc_rise_fantasia_screenshot.bmp

I'm going to jam both of these Action JRPGs together just because a top 11 list looks stupid. Arc Rise Fantastic comes from the guys who made Luminous Arc, and Tales of Graces comes from the Tales of Symphonia team and Tales of Vesperia team, I believe. Their prior games have had critical acclaim, so of course I am going to put them up on here.

5. http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/942/942787/monster-hunter-3-screens-20090108091728650.jpg

Monster Hunter Tri may have the absolute best graphics, and it's online play and massive scale definitely lend it some big legs. Monster Hunter is a huge hit in Japan, and is probably one of their most anticipated games of the year. If you want a sword twice the size of your character, this is the game for you.

4. http://www.videogamesblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/no-more-heroes-2-desperate-struggle-screenshot.jpg

Travis Touchdown is back, and he's bringing his witty, satirical humor with him coupled with dual-wielding beam katanas. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle brings everything that made the original great, while adding improvements. The impressive combat system and excellent story will steal the show.

3. http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/metroid-other-m_03.jpg

Metroid: The Other M is looking to completely reinvent the 3D Metroid series, and I'm all for it. Team Ninja (Ninja Gaiden series) and Nintendo are teaming up in this one, and man, does it look awesome! It looks like Samus is going to have tons of mobility and the same fantastic atmosphere. We will finally discover who Mystery Black Guy is.

2. http://wiimedia.gamespy.com/wii/image/article/992/992843/the-legend-of-zelda-wii-2-20090609030824380_640w.jpg

No one is really sure what The Legend of Zelda Wii is going to be like. This concept art is the only piece of information we have. And you know what? That's good enough. We all know that it's going to retain the same expertly designed puzzles and fantastic presentation the series is known for. I'm hoping Nintendo is working on the combat system with Wii Motion Plus, but even if it is just another rehash, I'm fine with that. Because when you have a series this good, it's hard to stay away.

1. http://www.mywii.com.au/img/game/Super-Mario-Galaxy-2-2.jpg

It was inevitable. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the greatest fan-service Nintendo has done in awhile, and I couldn't be happier. Super Mario Galaxy has such few flaws that it's hard to see what they will improve here, but knowing Nintendo, they'll be doing something great. The original one won the most Game of the Year awards in one the most competitive years ever (2007). It is also one of the highest ranking games of all time and with good reason. The fantastic level design combined with the brilliant platforming sequences and fantastic musical, fully orechestrated score is what puts this one on the top. This plumber is still alive and kicking every other game's butt even after nearly three decades.

Edit: Games that I do not know about, but are claimed to be good:

Team Trauma
The new Phoenix Wright game on WiiWare
Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
Endless Ocean: Blue Ocean
Gladiator A.D.
Epic Mickey

Also, Epic Mickey should have been fourth on the list, but it slipped my mind! Sorry! I will edit it later on and make a top 15 list.

Edit AGAIN: You are limited to 10 pictures per thread, so I am taking the Fragile Dreams one down.

But yeah... I'm buying everything from 8 to 1 on that list.

As for PS3, definitely Yakuza, 3DDGH, FF13, SO4, WKC and a couple others. But my biggest purchase will be an HDTV.

I feel so incredibly dumb for forgetting about an Atlus game on an Atlus forum.

I'm not a fan of FPSs ever, but Wii is a massive lack of them, which is why 9 and 10 are on the list. To be honest, I probably won't even get them, unless they surpass the hype. Their previous installments didn't even meet the hype. I like Valve FPSs, though. But I'm not a fan of the big name ones like Halo, Call of Duty, and Resistance that are on the market right now.

As for JRPGs, I love them to death, but a lot of them suffer from poor dialogue, repetitive combat systems, and melodramatic storylines. Well, I guess we'll have to see with Fragile, Tales of Grace, and Arc Rise Fantasia.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic about The Grinder... definitely a bargain bin pick-up at some point in time. As for RS2, one of my Ubisoft friends just sends these my way when something interests me.

Honestly my most awaited Wii game is Other M (M Other, MIRITE?)... I can't wait to see how that turns out. I hope it SCREAMS hardcore every second you play it!

And it bears repeating that Ignition is now in charge of Arc Rise Fantasia... this will be their ultimate test.

I'm getting Arc Rise Fantasia in large part because Ignition is in charge :-D.

Bring back the underboob!

Tatsunoko is going to be amazing. I've been playing the import since last year and it's amazing, and they're just going to make it better. I mean, ####, ZERO. FRANK WEST. JOE THE CONDOR. This is badass #### we are talking here.

I -hope- Sky Crawlers is good, it looks really interesting even though I've yet to see the movie it's based on. Which I hear is a requirement for playing the game. I should probably get on that.

Anyways, Monster Hunter isn't my thing and I don't like games set in first person, so I couldn't be less interested in 10, 9, and 5. Fragile is my #1 even over Mario Galaxy, and we'll see about NMH2. Other than that, everything looks cool to me.

Where is Sky Crawlers and Fragile Dreams on that list? Does it not count because it was already released in Japan for a few years now?

Fragile's on the list, dude. The first one is sort of subjective -- FlightSims are just as niche as roguelikes. I'm personally not feeling any sort of hype for it.

Funny how people make a big deal over Ace Combat.

Oh good, an edit list.

As for Tatsunoko, it should be considered a big deal since this is one of those games that scream "No Export" but has remarkably combo'd the crap out of that claim.

Don't forget Radio Allergy 2.

Hey, it's bound to be in the top 5. ...0.

Don't forget Radio Allergy 2.

I've heard of the arcade version, but...a console version that quick?

The S&P2 shot is really outdated, BTW. The textures are 1000x better now.

The new Phoenix Wright game on WiiWare

New? I only heard that they were "porting" the old ones... or is that what you meant?

S&P2 and The Other M are the highest in your list for me.

Other games I want are Trauma Team and Shiren the Wanderer (hey Atlus, high five!)

Also, I want Illvelo and Radio Allergy 2 (both developed by Milestone) because I'll buy any STG that's better than Monkey King and Saint, and I have all of Milestone's other shooters.

However, I'm disappointed by how UFO is doing their best to make people vomit with the Illvelo cover. People don't buy many games while they are vomiting.

#1-4, 6a (if localized), and 7 are day 1 for me. I want Arc Rise Fantasia as well, but if I'll be getting it right away or not really depends on how the localization goes. I'll likely be getting Epic Mickey on day 1 as well, unless something goes horribly wrong.

I'll probably be getting Trauma Team unless I don't like what I hear about the new parts, in which case I'll pick it up later. Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, Shiren, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars are still maybes on my list, there's too much to get right now, even though they look alright. I'm also keeping an eye on Lost in Shadow. A bit lower down on the list is the games Nintendo is published but refuses to promote, like Monado, Zangeki no Reginleiv, Spawn Smasher, etc. I'm only keeping an eye on them, but even if they turn out good who knows if NoA will release them now. I'm still waiting on Another Code R and Takt of Magic. I'm not interested in Monster Hunter after trying to get into the demo of Unite a few times, maybe I'll try again if I can get 3 for really cheap somewhere down the line but I don't plan on getting it right now. I'm also not too interested in Samurai Warriors 3 or Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, I'll probably pick up the latter on PS3 if I do end up picking one up.

Fragile hasn't looked good since they showed the gameplay at TGS 08, and with the negative impressions the Japanese release got I'm not sure why it still gets hype. I'm willing to bet Red Steel 2 will be better, and I have no faith in it either. HVS games aren't even worth mentioning, still don't know how so many people got sucked up on The Conduit, I guess IGN is to blame with their pursuit for "mature games."

There is no new Phoenix Wright coming out on WiiWare, it's all the old games/episodes. It's not even a notable WiiWare release honestly, there are much better things to spend points on unless you've never played the games.
