It crashes - constantly.

I literally could not get past a certain point in the game because the game just refused to work.

Whatever you do, *don't* buy it for PS3.

There is an 11 page thread on the Bethesda forums about it which got shut down by the mods for no reason.

Bethesda have no responded at all.

One has to remember that if the game crashes frequently or has other annoying problems on the PC, it's not impossible to fix it. Actually, it is quite easy some of the times.

If you import a brand new one you might not get the glitched version. To tell if yours is the glitched version if the Firmware on the UMD is under 2.50 then it might have the glitch. The Volt glitch is something that causes the game to freeze when you are trying to flip some switches.

Also, an extra controller, blue ray remote, Resident Evil BD and RE: Apocalypse BD to find out that BD are no better than DVDs really, some DVDs (Collection fillers mostly), and Astonishia Story which was also a horrible disappointment. I should have read up on that one but it was only five bucks. Tekken 6 and Disgaea 3 are on the way and I may pick up Cross Edge in the next week. I found out last night Enchanted Arms is only 19.99 so it might be worth picking up just to fill out the PS3 games a bit.

Blu Ray is a huge improvement, but it certainly depends on your TV most importantly, and some Blu Rays are better than others.

Also be sure that your res isn't at 720p. I know some people can't hit full 1080p but even 1080i makes your blu rays look a lot better than they would at 720p.

Were you talking to me? I hook my PS3 up with component cables. The single HDMI slot on my 46" Sony (back from 2005) stopped working. So I had to compromise, there really isn't any difference because the TV caps out at 1080i regardless of using an HDMI cable or component. I still keep it at 1080i because blu rays look significantly better over 720p.

I got bored one day and messed around with the settings on my TV and tweaked them into perfection. Only bummer is that it is one of those TV's that require you to replace the lamp every 3-4 years. Lamp can be found for roughly $100 on ebay.

Our TV runs at 1080p; the Xbox 360, PS3, and the DVD player are all hooked up via HDMI cables (We have three HDMI inputs); and I found out that the reason I don't notice much of a difference is we have a progressive scan DVD changer that upconverts. Having not seen a DVD at 720p for so long, I guess I just don't remember the difference. On the other hand, I'm not that into the stats.

While we're on topic, though, my BF wants to run the audio via optical cable. We have the cable, and the TV and PS3 both have optical out but the DVD/surround system doesn't have optical in. Can anyone PM me if there's a box or connector or something?

Does it have a digital coaxil input? If not then your system probably doesn't support Dolby Digital or DTS, in which case there would be no point in using the optical outputs on any of those systems. Speaking of which, I should probably update and bump the HD buying thread...

Progressive scan is almost always better than interlaced, so if your options are 1080i and 720p, go with 720p.

With video games, 720p no doubt but with blurays you can't even tell any difference in performance. The quality is #### in 720p compared to what it can look like in 1080i, this is one of the times I truly wish I had a camera on me so you could see what I am talking about.

I think you may have found this already, but for 360 I have Omega Five, Castle Crashers, Lost Odyssey, Last Remnant, Blue Dragon, Operation Darkness, and the largest time suck out of all of them, Fallout 3 GOTY.

I've noticed that in general PS3 games are better about that than 360 games. About half of my brother's 360 library is nigh-on unplayable on a standard definition television, but I can play my entire PS3 library on one with negligible eyestrain.

Granted, that means the text looks unusually large when playing in high definition.

On topic, I just picked up Johnathan Coulton's Best. Concert. Ever. and got it signed by him too!

In this case, I had some coupons and reward certificates at Best Buy that I couldn't decide what to spend on. A second copy of Bayonetta (PS3) seemed like a good choice.

^ Anyone here a Voltron fan? lol. The only ones I'm missing are volume #5 of lion force and Volume #1(or #6) of vehicle force. I originally had just volume #1 of lion force for almost two years. I bought each of these for about $12.50 each (The movie was $7.50) from a local Best Buy after price matching their website. I'll possibly pick up the Japanese sets as well at some point.

Truthfully, I despise Youtube for streaming videos anyway since the quality is garbage, even in HD. I'm buying brotherhood as well (but only blu-ray season sets) and I'll keep the old series to compliment it. There's no law of equivalent exchange that says I can't enjoy both right? :D
