Grapes, a greek salad and a falafel pita. I've had to go on a special diet. It's not so bad.

Just went through two avocados. Chicken + brown rice after hockey tonight.

There was a potluck at work, basically all-you-can-eat buffet! People brought interesting stuff...

Food, mostly.

To be more specific, a couple of tangerines for breakfast, a Hardees hamburger for lunch (I was in a rush), and spaghetti with garlic bread for supper. I may have snacked on some nutella at some point.

I just ate some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. At least it was cheap.

ViolenceJack
12-18-2009, 12:28 PM
Cheap usually equals bad. Esp. for Chinese/Japanese food.

I had a chicken pattie, on sourdough w/american cheese sandwhich and a diet coke.

American cheese is so nasty, but its all we have atm.

Well yeah, I wasn't exactly expecting haute cuisine, but I've had some pretty decent cheap Chinese food. What I ate today was not it.

I cooked up some Steak 'Ums, put the whole package on a loaf of Asiago bread, put half a package of Meunster Cheese on top, and some A-1 Steak sauce on it... I also had some dried onion bits I sprinkled on it as well.

BTW, that wasn't a single meal, I cut it into 4ths :D

I had previously done the same with a generic package of Philly Steak, and it was a lot better... Less fat, more protein, less mess, and so on.

I guess the Steak 'Ums are easier to prepare for one serving, but they say there are 16 servings in a 24oz package, which doesn't really equal a good meal. The Philly Steak was 4 servings, in a 14-16 oz. package. They came in a sliced, rolled up form that looked like a solid steak until they heated up. I was able to cook all 4 of the "steaks" at once in the skillet, but the Steak 'Ums were super flat pieces that could only be cooked a couple at a time.

Although, like I said, they are a mess to make, and pretty darn greasy...

=====

Since I was snowed in yesterday, I went over to my brother's house today, and had leftovers...

Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, mushrooms & almonds, rolls, sweet potatoes.

They always set out grazing stuff, so I also had a couple of rum balls, a dark chocolate/ginger cookie, some great fudge (got a box of it for Christmas, as well), and some crackers with salsa/avocado/sour cream dips.

Since I was finally able to get ahold of some good quality smoked fish on my vacation last week (I seriously can't find a single brand where I live that meets my standards :( ), I've been eating a lot of chazuke this week. Ridiculously simple, but my love for it knows no bounds.

I made pork roll, eggs and toasted apple bread for breakfast. I had the last bit of my mom's home made chicken soup for lunch. And I had a cheese burger with American cheese and thousand island dressing, with two pickles and some Bush's baked beans.

I had some mixed nuts for a snack.

I'm thinking of going food shopping tomorrow to make a chicken dish for dinner.

Stouffer's "Meatloaf" for supper...

I wasn't impressed. Yes, it was meat, and it was in a loaf shape (actually 6 mini-loaves), but it wasn't real meatloaf. It was in a ton of gravy, so it was more like loaf-shaped salisbury steak. Meatloaf is supposed to have ketchup (or tomato paste? ) on top!!

I'm going to have to see if I can find my mom's recipe, or just dig up a traditional meatloaf recipe somewhere.
