I have wanted to pick this game up since it came out, but I have been too busy playing my PS3 to really get my ass in gear and buy it. Until yesterday. Now I am planning on playing once I go through the Fallout 3 DLC (2 more to go and then beat the game for the Broken Steel...). Is there anything that I should know before I start? Like, is there an item that I'll get early on that I need to hang on too or not use until later?

Yes, there is something you should know.

This game is EXTREMELY repetitive, especially if you're the type of person who likes to beat a game completely.

There are many stories with different characters in this game, but you will have to go through the same maps and sometimes fight the same enemies if you want to beat them all.

I kept falling asleep in my third run...

It's not really repetitive since you use different characters every tale. Besides, the story is way too good to notice. ^^ I wish I had the artbook. ;_;

Well we all have our own opinions eh?
Yea, different stories are great, but one of the most important parts of a game is game play and I found that part of this game to be sleep inducing. :P
I agree though, the art in this game is very good.

I bought the game used for $25, so I missed out on all the spoils (except the soundtrack). I don't have a problem going through the game with a different character, it is not that bad since I used to go back through games I have beat to ensure that I didn't miss anything. I was just hoping there wasn't any thing that I should have known about. I forgot the name of the game, but there was a scene where a cat was chasing a mouse. If you saved the mouse, then he would chew through your ropes later on in the game so you can escape; if you didn't save the mouse, then it was game over and you had to start all over again. Stuff like that was what I was trying to avoid.
