On Destructoid's list. I think that's a very good number for it.

"Thank heavens Persona 4 was not based on my real-life high school experience. If that were the case, clever weapons and items would be replaced with Trapper Keepers, the slick costumes in the game would be nothing but cuffed jeans and Ocean Pacific t-shirts, and everyone’s controversial Personas would be the uncanny, but ultimately useless, power to decorate your entire car with Disney movie decals.

But enough about me! Persona 4, with its surprisingly seamless combination of dungeon-crawling RPG and social-based simulator, is one of the most intriguing and absolutely amazingly well-crafted role-playing games of the last generation. Who knew dating and social interaction could actually be fun?! Persona 4 fixes what little was wrong with Persona 3 and, by including a strong story and memorable characters, manages to surpass its beloved predecessor in almost every way."

Their list is very strong. The posting with Persona 4 had alot of my other favourite games too.

Cool Persona 4 made it, but personally I don't feel it should be chosen over at least several other SMT and SMT related titles from the past ten years -- SMT Nocturne, P:IS and P:EP all come to mind.

It is nearly impossible to make a list that everyone will ever agree with though.

Great job Persona 4! Although I personally feel that it deserves to be higher in the list. :P My other favorites, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Metal Slug 3 made it on the list too. :D

I am so...SO...FSCKING proud of Valkyria Chronicles for making it to #8!

Also, Halo and Fallout 3 aren't there, so justice still exists in this world.

It should be first.

Why Ikaruga is there I have no idea. Braid should have been higher up...I'm glad Pikmin and Okami were in. As for Persona 4...I liked P3 better, but whatever.

I seriously disagreed with thier choice of FFIX when FFXII was so bold and refreshing to that particular series - and they seemed to restrict themselves to one entry per franchise. FFIX had a lot of design flaws I just couldn't forgive, the two most notable being forced to divide up parties only to find out half of them will be stranded in a place where magic doesn't work.

The other being Steiner's ultimate weapon.

Also, Ico should have been where Shadow of Colossus was.

While I sort of agree with Kakizaki about Nocturne, I do have to admit Persona 4 educated players a little better about how to approach it. Nocturne was pretty vague in terms of teaching you how to play, which could end up making Fusion a frustration rather than something enjoyable. Nocturne as a stronger challenge over all and a bit more deep, but part of that challenge was from not teaching you much about the gameplay mechanics. I think if most of us knew what Tentarafoo was before we chose it, we never would have picked it at all.

I support their final fantasy decision. I found FFXII tedious and boring with a pointless main character. I quit playing because i was having no fun... as my friend said its more of a game you watch than actually play...

I'm really, really not surprised. Persona 4 is a brilliant game, and I haven't met someone whose disliked it...
