My guess is artistic decision? past Sting games also had a fair amount of English in them.

It's not the weirdness of the names, it's the length of the names. And it's because Atlus might not think it possible without changing the inner code... Which might be why it's only taking a while, because Sting is recoding a little to make Atlus' localization easier.

That takes away from the game, as a lot of characters have siblings/cousins/parents in the story, and in a lot of cases you only know (explicitly) by their last names.

In order to get the most out of the tran-soul system, you want to fuse knights with strong attachments to each other, Pause Talk and the Names of the Knights are clues to those relationships.

Seeing how all these games are interconnected, (Yggdra apparently makes an appearance in this game) I wouldn't be surprised if it took place among all the worlds at once. I think we still wont know if it's coming for a long while. Aside from my only hazy understanding of the plot, it seems to be the most complex and mature game of the series, definitely an OCD dream! After they translate the absurd amount of text, it will take a huge amount of work just to cram it all back in!

You sure? It didn't seem to do much worse before it fell off the chart. Since it was released in 2008 we won't see the final LTD sales until Famitsu releases the top 500 later this year. It did worse than Yggdra Union for sure but Riviera didn't seem to do much better:

Yes, but announcements came much earlier. I am worried that it's already been four months since the release and there still hasn't been any announcement. If there's still no announcement by March/April, I will just go back to playing the Japanese version and finish it.

Sting decided to release the game when major games were coming out (Pokemon....Diamond..?, Super Robot Wars Z, etc), it probably would've sold better if they didn't sell it on such a horrible month >
......actually in total, combining both Dept Heaven package and Knights in the Nightmare, it sold pretty well considering when it was released >

Raidou 2 is also up and I don't think amazon is that fast, I think someone screwed up big time. I guess we'll find out soon enough, going by the dates Dokapon Journey will probably be announced soon if it's coming out on April 14th.
