I started up a third alt and managed to get the Blueblood Sword pretty early. But it's not apparent what stats augment it?
The item description itself says D/-/E/E (str/dex/mag/faith), the wiki says "Luck [affects] the Physical Damage and Faith [affects] the Magical", and others have told me to just bump Luck.
Which one(s) is it? And how much do I need to raise it before the sword becomes any good? It's "decent" right now with ~20 luck, but I was more impressed with my Mirdan Hammer on my Faith alt.

Overall, the sword isn't reasonable to use because of the balance in stats it would require. You will always be able to find a better option, except maybe if you were to ever to come close to max soul leve.

To answer your question, it draws a lot of attack power from Luck. I hear that if you pump more than 40 Luck, however, it'd be a waste. Faith also increases its magical power, so I think a mix of those two will make the weapon quite a bruiser.

The blade damage is decent with cursed weapon on, without it its not much a of threat.
I don't think is a decent weapon as alot of stats needed to be invest.
I bump into a few blueblood user, once the curse goes off, they either switch to another weapon or try to buy space for recast. Quite risky if your opponent is seasoned and keep chasing you when trying to recast.

I just got Blueblood for my thief yesterday... I think it's about ~160 each for physical and magical damage. It's not that much to look at but being a longsword makes it a real beast with spammable swings and the R2 stab's wicked reach and massive damage boost.
I don't see how the stat requirements are a big problem:
The Faith and Magic requirements you'll meet if you've got Talisman of the Beast.
The Strength requirements are lower than Purple Flame Shield.
The Dex requirements are just barely above Lava Bow which is probably the best for an even build of stats anyway.

Dominions, its not about the stat requirements, its about continuing to boost all those stats in order to make the weapon effective.

honestly why would luck affect damage at all it's not a stat that is listed on weapons?
@ Dominions: I personally haven't used the blueblood yet because my faith is too low, but in my game it lists as a large sword and when I do a power attack it doesn't stab so I don't know if something is screwed up in my game or if you are thinking of a different sword
and if the stats are D/-/E/E then I would think that str would affect power the most.

Blueblood is prolly most useful weapon. I've got 20 luck, 25 magic, 30 strength, and 20 Faith. Damage is about 326 and enchanted goes up well above what Northern Regalia puts out. The fact that I can swing away without much fear of my stamina completely draining also makes me happy.
Seems if you pump luck you'll get the better results. Boosting my Faith I didn't see much of a difference. Then again I probably just overlooked it.

Decent sword but you need to have cursed weapon to get some pretty nice damage.

What is its damage at 99 luck? I am at around 320 with min stats + 16 luck.

There's no spot to list luck on the weapon specs sheet, and luck only affects that one weapon anyway... at best with just the listed stat adds I think Blueblood would have +30 each to normal and magical damage. In comparison every level of luck adds +1 to each damage type, that one stat would be adding ~200 damage total at max as opposed to all three normal damage stats adding ~60.
Blueblood is most definitely a longsword, I've got it on my thief character and use it as my main weapon. The stab is only for 1-handed stance... if you're two-handing that sword you're using it wrong.

Yeah, gotta be a screw-up in the game text... Blueblood has the same move set as Long Sword. I never read the weapon-type text, I thought Mail Breaker was a dagger for the longest time.

Actually you are almost better off with the blueblood only doing your minimum stats to use it then confining the rest of your stats to luck (up to 40) and faith. Doing magic damage is always superior to physical damage since magic damage bleeds through all but one shield in the game even on successful block and is commonly not as well defended by mobs or invaders. Also if you have a decent magic stat you will get more bang for your buck out of light weapon since it stacks with magic.

That's totally how I'm rolling with my Thief character right now. I pumped luck while buying everything I needed for the sword... only problem is it left me way too low on VIT and END by the time I was in NG+, you've gotta spend a lot of stat points to use Blueblood.
Talisman of the Beast is really high on my must-get list, I've just got the stats for it and it'll help boost my magic power by a good bit. I should have done all the BP kills in my first playthrough :\

talisman of the best has lower spell bonus that wooden or insanity catalysts. the benefit is that it can do spells and miracles. just fyi.

I thought it let you add your combined MAG + FAI bonus to spell/miracle effects... it's got C for each stat unlike Insanity Catalyst (A MAG) or Talisman of God (B FAI)
