Ok I cant decide which weapon to use as my main weapon between kilij uchigata and the knight's sword. I like how fast the kilij's attacks are, I like the attack power and reach of the uchigata and I like the piercing attack of the knight's sword. What I dont like is the kilij's short range, the uchigata's VERY low durability and the knight sword's low attack.

Also I need help deciding which path i should choose when upgrading whichever weapon I choose. Should I choose quality (dex and str bonus highest grade is a C ) or should I choose crushing path (str ONLY bonus highest upgrade is a S).

If it helps to know my stats they are:
str-27
dex-18

Yes I know they are low its only because im still a nub im only soul lvl 66 lol

So people please help me choose it is much appreciated and also if there is a sword out there that you think would fit better for me please let me know. Thanks your help is much appreciated.

OK, since you are new to the game and your build goes towards strength go for a Dragon Knight Sword +5. Dragon weapons are great during your first cycle and long swords in general are very versatile. If you can get your hands on a Broadsword you'd be even better off since it can deal both slashing and stabbing damage and causes bleeding (please note that said weapon does not scale well according to your strength but has high raw dmg).

The Kilij is a better choice than the Uchi imo, mainly because of the attack speed. If you want to use a katana you must be prepared to go zweihander with it, the other way around is just too sloppy.

So, to be safe make a DKS+5 and it should keep you going at least until you beat 1-2 in NG+.

Hope this helps.
